With the West Yorkshire derby coming up this weekend, a serious question for Town fans (although obviously there'll be the odd troll/WUM who'll skew this poll). There's no grey area for this one; it's a straight 'Yes' or 'No'. I know that many fans enjoy the atmosphere and the chance to come up against our most hated rivals, and the financial boost is always welcome for the club. But I also know that there are those who would prefer us to 'lord it' over Leeds from a higher division. So ... the question is ... given their current precarious position, would you be happy for Leeds to be relegated?

question should probably be worded "would you rather leeds stay up or go down" because most on here would be happy for them to go down

Hell no, why would I want to get rid of the two games a year that most of us look forward to more than any other...

I can't vote on this because I would love the chance to smile smugly and ask who they've got this weekend . . . Crewe, Yeovil, Crawley? etc. but I would miss the hype and banter building up to "our" cup finals

Sure. Relegation would be fun, but hopefully Bradford would then make the step up.

Relegated !!!! I'd happily see them out of business and their ground flattened to make way for a shopping centre. Their hooligan fans and dirty bribing crooked managers and owners have only ever brought shame to the good people of Leeds .

I'd be bloody delighted.
As much as I like lording it over them when we beat them, it wouldn't be half as good as lording it over them from a higher division. Plus, it'd be great to see them crying on the telly again.

How long did we have to wait to get a West Yorkshire derby game. I seem to remember there being around 34,000 at Leeds for one of the previous matches. I must admit that i found it abit strange this season when we took more fans away to Fulham than we did to Leeds . Always seemed extra special in my 52 years a fan to stick one up Leeds ,and even better to have the braging rights of West Yorkshire. This is the best opportunity in years to give the Leeds scum bags back some serious shit back from previous " embarrassing results " that didn,t go our way, and would not suprise me if Powell gives a big ask for this town to turn them over bigtime..

Relegated !!!! I'd happily see them out of business and their ground flattened to make way for a shopping centre sewage treatment works or landfill site. Their hooligan fans and dirty bribing crooked managers and owners have only ever brought shame to the good people of Leeds . Edited for accuracy. Seems more fitting than a shopping centre somehow.

The more Yorkshire derbies the better for me. If they play Bradford in Lg1, that's still a Yorkshire derby.

Relegated from the Football League I'd enjoy for the sheer shock/humour value.
But... if they're going to be in the Championship or League 1, I'd prefer they were in the division as us to be honest.
Similarly with Bradford... wouldn't like to see them actually achieve something and get promoted, BUT, given the choice, I'd rather they were in the same league as us.
Although, I'd also quite enjoy it if Halifax and Bradford were in the same division, and that happened to be 2 leagues below Town!
To be honest, I think football as a whole would be much improved if only the Premier League and Championship were national leagues and below that split into a separate North and South tree of two side by side divisions.
You'd increase the number of teams getting relegated and promoted into the Conference system each year, which would give more 'smaller' teams a chance for a bit of professional pie.
Also it would be a chance to reinvigorate the north/south cup competition to replace the current JPT, with supporters more clearly aware of their north/south identity. Possibly throw in an end of season north/south inter league challenge as well.
Reduce the north and southern league 1 divisions to 20 teams (to give extra space for end of season competition), and push some current league 2 teams down into the conference system to a) de stigmatise relegation to the conference and boost that competition with the introduction of some common "name" teams, and b) force clubs to act within their means by really paring back the money they get and giving them a realism check.
Football solved!?

Send em down, send em down, send em down. If we can dump them in the bottom 3 on Saturday night, that would make for a fantastic night round Cleck. After checking the league table, we CAN'T dump them into the bottom 3 on Saturday

Recent attendances going to Elland rd proves its no big day out. And home games always early kick off puts a damper on it. Would rather have Sheff U, Barnsley, Bradford & any Lancashire side far better day out. Plus Town in a higher div than them fucking priceless where I live.

I spoke to a mate of mine who's a big Leeds fan last week, and he's convinced they're going down - he says it's a club in turmoil with no leadership or organisation.

One of my brothers supports Leeds, the other supports QPR.
I hate both with a passion and would love to see them both relegated and even better expelled from the League for countless financial irregularities.

Fair point but what would you want to happen to the clubs??

It's only because of the arrogance of many Leeds fans that I wish them ill. If they had a bit more humility, and maybe a sense of humour I might think of them as I do about Barnsley, for example. But because they always come up with the big and mighty European Champions stuff, Ithink a few years in the Conference might be an appropriate correctional therapy.

In reality I only want them relegate if Bradford got promoted at the same time. It would keep a west Yorkshire derby and be good for a laugh! Beyond that the three of us in the same league would be good commercially
