What about the gobber Bunn missed at Fulham, its so easy to say mate. Town fans are split on the Ward give away. For me, Ward should be a Town player, he's only 24.
Did you know that Cameron Jerome was 24 when deemed too old for Town, went on to have a very successful premiership career. Opinions at Town are concern to me.

Imagine if Stead and Ward started today. There'd be OUTRAGE. By the same people moaning we got rid of them. There were people whinging like fook when Woods left (Woods ffs), too ready to accept mediocrity down here. Which is what Ward has been bar his loan spell where he looked the biz

Sorry if this has been stated earlier, CBA reading all this thread but in a strange kinda way, wards goal may be great for us because it stopped Carlton getting all 3 points. 1 point each for 2 teams below us is the best outcome, surely?

Good luck to him tbh. I've not been a fan of his. Seems odd looking at Ward and Hammill now just filling the bench at Rotherham for last few weeks. Made our bench look dreadfull today really.

Its along season, you need a squad of players ready to get their chance at a run in the team but Powell was given a agenda on players that the board want out. Gerrard in particular, senior pro can do a job at this level but not picked at all. Hoyle said " he wants him out" so the likes of Stead, Ward etc fitted the same bill. Hope this clearance doesn't come back to bite Deano on the arse, we're not safe by a long way. When it comes down to it every Chairman concerned with HTAFC gets a nose bleed going past the half way line.

Maybe Dean just thinks we are going to be pretty much safe, with no chance of the playoffs, so to help balance the books and give Powell more options in the summer he is having a real push to clear out some of the higher earners who are not in our plans for next year.
It could be that simple.

Yes your right, player of the year so far so why the statistical analysis? Ward played up front half the time so it makes statistical comparison difficult anyway. And yes Hammill was a v good winger before he got injured....but whats your point? Drop/get rid of the best player of the season because you don't like his stats? Point 1. Goals win games. Ward / Hammill score /create more than Scannell. As I put above, that's not to say you can't judge by looking beyond the stats - accept that, Scannell has improved remarkebly, stretches teams etc. Point 2. Stats do matter though - they both contributed, not always appreciated by Town fans - now those options in the squad aren't there. Ok heres a stat, how many goals or assists did ward provide by playing out wide? You know where the player you keep comparing him does, might as well compare his stats to hoggs.

It matters little what we think about player, what matters is what other clubs will pay for them. it is what other clubs will pay for them that is the acid test.
who wanted Ward and what would they pay for him. The answer was only one and not much.
I can only assume that clubs want value for the money they spend. like him or lothe him no one else thought enough of him to come in for him except a club who was desparate to avoid the drop.
Ward has quality and ability but his stock has gone down while he was with us. It is possible that at a new club he might find his feet and we could regret moving him on. This could happen with any player, but he has had his chance while he was with us and it is now time for us all to move on.

You're right, but the difference is Ward is a squad filler at Rotherham & Scannell is one of the first names on the team sheet for us.. No way would Ward be getting game time ahead of Scanz if he was still here.. Or Bunn!

Bearing in mind I thought Ward got better during his tenure and I quite liked him by the end......these posts are ridiculous.
I just don't get why some people are so interested in their point being proved correct, even when it wouldn't be the best thing for Town.
I was more than happy to see Robinson playing well, when I initially thought he was terrible and said such.

Robinson has improved massively after a slow start here, I hope we get him permanently next season after Redknapp walked last week.. He'll be difficult to replace if not.

Noticed he was on the bench for Rotherham again last night! He must have more splinters in his arse than assists this season! He also didn't add to his 'assists' in their 5-0 defeat to wolves at the weekend following another battering by Watford yesterday!

Good luck to the guy, plenty of talent just needs consistency. Only 24 so plenty of time to further himself but I think it was the best decision for both club and player.

Didn't think he'd do much at Rotherham but I'm surprised he isn't even getting a game, thought Hamill would have done ok for them. Rotherham looking increasingly doomed.

Hammill was a fucking parody by the time he moved to Rotherham. He'd do nothing on the pitch other than spin around and play the ball into touch, not have the balls to take a man on anymore, and play this constant back-and-forth pantomime game with the linesman where he'd pull faces at their decisions and wink at them and have this running dialogue. We stood by him after he assaulted two female paramedics, spitting blood at them and busting on of their noses, and then his mysterious absence which a lot of people put down to being in rehab for alcoholism, and the only justification time and time again for having him here was for his performances in the first half of last season. I for one am glad he doesn't play for us anymore. A pirouette here and step-over there and some folk will turn a blind eye to anything, mainly the fact he was crap in the end. EDIT: I've also just realised I was replying to a post by specialun from last month and this has no relevance whatsoever...doh Yes your right, player of the year so far so why the statistical analysis?
