I cleaned all the windows today, and cleaned all the bathrooms and made a nice Sunday lunch. Oh and washed mine and our lasses car. Was well pleased when it pissed it down and wet all the windows and the cars...... Can't do with ironing though. So if you do the ironing ted, what does your partner do? Her ironing

I really think the inconsistency of performance is grinding fans down. Most understand the difference between a bad result and a bad performance. So up for it one week then apparently not the rest? I don't buy that yesterday they collectively thought you know what i cant be arsed today! It was the team formation which left us with little ball winning ability to supply what on paper looked like a potent attack. Personally i think that in our third season in this division we should by now have two good enough central midfielders that can play with two wingers and be effective without the comfort of requiring a third central midfielder but we dont, so we struggle. Of our midfield i am not sure what coady brings to the party but it certainly isnt ball winning and tackling which provides the basis to win the battle before you can start to play your own game. Sure we have enough to win some games but equally exposed as under strength in others. Robins used to describe us as a work in progress, to many fans its like painting the bloody Forth bridge

Yeah I'm curious about this also. What was ironic about it Wooley? The irony of spelling brain incorrectly. Next time I will put [sic] after such posts. But you probably dont know what that means either. Even if you didn't have a successful school life, Google can be useful if you're struggling with your intellect. Such impudunce (sic) and audacity. The misspelling of the word 'brain' by writing 'brian' isn't ironic. As you suggested, Google was very useful: irony [ahy-ruh-nee] noun, plural ironies. 1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend. 2. Literature. When making an error with the spelling of a word. Instead of being humble and accepting the error a person instead chooses to claim that it was intentional by declaring that the misspelling was an act of irony.

Not quite sure you have grasped the concept of irony , Woolley. A person who worried so much about his health that he made himself ill with the stress- that would be a nice example of irony. Spelling brain incorrectly is more moronic than ironic. And putting (sic) after it would only indicate that you actually did mean to say that "as writtten" but it still wouldn't make it ironic.. ?

Haven't been reading this thread, but seems its gone off track.
Anyway I went yesterday and can honestly say that was probably the most inept performance I have ever seen, we were lucky not to lose by 6 or 7. How anyone can find anything positive out of that I don't know.

If we want to win games then we're going to have to beat teams.

Do you think the manager and coaching staff have a post mortem after games such as this, where it seems the pre match planning went woefully wrong...and try and identify what mistakes were made to ensure lessons are learned ? I'm sure Dean must be curious as to what went wrong, but given the regularity such events take place I can only assume no lessons are ever learned...

Don't teams lose 3-0 and more week in week out ? In every league in the world ? It's not 10-1 ffs in football you either win lose or draw... Three outcomes ... Each and every team trying desperately to win... We won 3-0 against reading on Tuesday... I wasn't there as I was down south with work.. But it sounds like although we played pretty well. It was a game of fine margins and reading could have bagged one or two... So should they be having this huge post Mortem with their Russian owner standing curiously above them ? People seem to have lost a grip on reality... Town have always won lost and drawn and always will.... Sometimes they have won and lost by three four five six ,.. And even ten !!!! Since when were we supporting Barcelona ?

they should be having a good look at themselves because they lost badly again..thats Reading..
but they have a cup quarter final coming up and possibly their management also believe they are 'safe'...
The reference to Barcelona is a stupid as the posts that say some supporters think we should win every game..Its a bigger 'knee jerk' than any of the posts that are annoyed about the clubs lack of professionalism, on the playing side.
Powell changed what we did, got it wrong, failed to change it and we lost badly.. that's it.. Charlton are a mid table side for a reason , it isn't because they don't take advantage of other mid table sides who turn up poorly prepared and lacking the motivation, will and gameplan to bother them very much..

Of course things need to be reviewed... Of course if you lose 3-0 it's not good enough...of course no one should be resting on their laurels... Of course the team need to give 100% for the long suffering fans.... But we aren't unique..... All bar the top teams take regular tonkings

Er....is that supposed to help your cause? Yes, they are examples of irony which involve spelling mistakes, but they are only ironic because they are unintentional mistakes. You, on the other hand, went to great pains to point out that yours was intentional. But....there is good news!! You supporting your case with information that does just the opposite is....yes, a brilliant example of irony!! :-)
