It's some fan's mis-guided expectation that we should rightfully win every game that is crazy really. You have to pay big money for anything that works perfectly every time, we don't have big money, so we buy players that regularly fault for cut price. If you want close to perfection every week then you are truly supporting the wrong football club, no doubt about that. So many factors that contribute to a performance on the pitch, multiplied by 11+ - The shitter on the team coach was broken and toxic fumes made everyone high - Anthony Gerrard bullying everyone - Bad night's sleep - Girlfriend / wife fucking up your head via text message - Losing at FIFA on the coach journey - Not listening to the right music beforehand - The weather - Wrong Studs or blades - Meal eaten at the wrong time - Pants too tight etc. Just human beings. Rare for everyone to be firing at once. Rarer for us, because we didn't buy the deluxe edition player with leather seats and satnav. I personally think that mental state is the single biggest way of defeating yourself. Ask any golfer. We really do miss Blacky. Call it voodoo or call it bollocks. It works. When you are in a good mood, you do everything better. To be honest, if a footballers involved its usually somebody else's wife or girlfriend their fucking....

Typical DATM overreaction thread.. Public apology? Don't be daft.. It wasn't great but we've got another quick turn around & CP will look to put things right on Tuesday against Brentford.. A team we've already beaten this season. If we win Tuesday there will be a thread demanding an open top bus parade with a champagne reception at the Town Hall. No that's reserved for when we beat Leeds. Seriously, I think some fans would be happy if we went down as long as we took 6 points of our West Yorkshire neighbours.......

I'd like an apology from the Charlton police for the pubs being closed during the game

I'd like an apology from the Charlton police for the pubs being closed during the game I overheard a Town fan on the way out and he'd only caught the last 5 minutes because he'd fallen asleep in the pub.

you can spend your whole life 'looking to put things right'??
unfortunately in football like a great deal of life, time isn't on your side..the money its costing for powell to continually 'look to put things right' isn't going to be re couped even if he starts getting some of it right..
we are desperate to get more people in the ground , we will be desperate to sell more season cards in summer without giving them away, its not happening and the interest has waned with still 2 months to go..
slight perceived improvements get blown out of the water when we lose badly like Saturday...you wont sell season cards on the back of 'promising' to be one place better off next season, Rotherham might if they stay up, we will be going into our 4th season back here and promises wear off, even ones where you are aiming pretty low..

We could have a scheme where we set up a panel made up of supporters and club people to predict future results. If we do worse than they come up with we as fans get a refund. If we do better we pay the club a bonus. If that scheme had been working for the last 6/7 years when we have improved year on year the club could have got an awful lot more out of us!

What do they drum in to kids at school these days - it's the taking part that matters not the winning!
