At the recent home game v Cardiff during Half Time the old man got chatting to chap over a brew, turns out to be one of the players dads (obviously cant name names) , what I can say was that his son was really surprised by the lack of intensity that there is during training and this perhaps is one the reasons why we can never string two results together. I am a supporter of CP however when you hear info like this and the results kinda support it - you have to ask the question.
Another question I would add yet again (which has now been asked on here many times) is how is it that when the opposition get a free kick any where near our goal, Smithies is usually picking the ball out of the net and when we get a free kick in a similar position it always amounts to nothing. Didnt Nakki used to bang free kicks in for fun at Bradford why not now ?- Is this something that's ever practiced ?

Listening to CP after the Charlton match, he didn't seem to be either bothered or to have any answers. This attitude probably resonates around the club, starting with training.

I think CP bothers a lot. You look at the fitness levels of the likes of Harry Kane and Diego Costa and compare them to ours and you have to wonder about the training regime though. I guess you would say that Vaughan and Miller are still gaining full match fitness. Butterfield had put in a huge shift and looked cream crackered for the last 20. I was surprised he took Hogg off - because he is one who does look properly fit - apart from when he's crocked!

I think CP bothers a lot. Maybe, but I was a lot more annoyed about that performance than he sounded after the match.

we never started chasing them about on Saturday..not sure how we can look tired towards the end??? we did enough on Tuesday.. Saturday is the day off, tomorrow is a free day and then we can save ourselves for Saturday.. win a few more home games and we will have just 'done enough'... maybe if Milwall and wigan lose one or two more we might 'get away' with just drawing a few home games??? no point killing yourself if 3 teams are considerably worse is there??? maybe buying season cards is 'just enough', maybe we don't have to bother turning up either??? cash is already paid... Brentford is our last away game this season, going only because we got the tickets already, lets hope we are not all 'drifting' towards may and the massive 'influx' of 'quality' championship players for Powell to build his own team and then try to work out why it isn't working most of the time??

I remember the days when town would have a player either side of the keeper on the goal line for free kicks.

Do you really think football is as simple as just turning up and playing how you want to win the game?

I thought we chased them plenty. That was the problem - wish they had been chasing us. It was nothing to do with respective work rates or lack of getting players forward.

It's like these weirdos have been lowered down to earth very recently and never actually played the game at school or at any level I remember my time at Holme Valley Grammar now Honley High. when it came to the footy in games period the two best players would choose their teams form the line up and that would be the top match. The rest of us played in the who ever was left match. I always tried to hide behind people to get in the lower game as I would be like Messi in that game. I would score ten goals and have a blast. If I got selected for the top match I would be run ragged, kicked about score nothing and would go home knowing I had been in a game. That's just the difference between a bunch of kids. Some people have no idea how good professionals really are...

2 teams of professionals..in the same division with roughly the same season under their belts..both on not unreasonable runs of 'form'...
difference on the day, attitude and work rate, they don't have better players than us like for like..
attitude and workrate is set by the staff and the motivation through the club..its missing so often at Town, questions are being asked..
like it or not, and be honest you don't have to have played to mine or your respective 'levels' to see it..granted mine was quite a while ago..
we have lost games where the attiude and commitment and approach was right, unfortunately we made mistakes and lost them, we were a mistake on Saturday and everything else just tailed off from it..starting poorly is one thing, doing nothing to change it is another. getting dicked right after half time is also a worry, shows nothing happened at half time or no one was listening...
not sure where its going to all come right..we have little money, a real lack of team spirit too often and a bloke in charge who will take a home 0-0 draw before the game kicks off..

How do you know we have no team spirit? Are you just basing it on what you think or have you some knowledge of the dressing room atmosphere?

I think the big crowd was an advantage to them - or contrarily we would have done better in a dead, disillusioned atmosphere in front of 8000 (and I don't mean because we have more practice at it at our place). Not that we didn't work hard mind.
I was also surprised that CP didn't sort the midfield at half time. It was a bit similar to Norwich in the way we conceded early on in the second half and that killed the game.

Yep block the geezer who didn't like CP s interview because he wasn't bothered and resonates around the club. He seems a right troublemaker.
