Is it chuff false you fools.
The only thing slightly skewing the figures in a tiny way are the teams who have played one game less.
We are where we are because we've gained the points we've gained. It's that simple.
There's no doubt we were robbed 2 points v Charlton back in August aswell, did you factor that into your 'false position' Einstein?

Of course it's that simple, but that won't get admitted because it doesn't suit their flawed logic. Another point to consider (as well as the one you make v Charlton), is that we've now played ALL of the top 8 away. These are the top 8 who have opened up a big gap on the rest.

I genuinely don't know so a real question here - what was the Charlton fan's feelings about Powell the season before he made a load of close season signings and they then won the league? Or am I mixing 2 different seasons up? No time to check, busy day...

I was talking to a leeds fan at work today and they reckoned 45 points could keep us safe, baring in mind the dross in the bottom 3 with so few games to go.

We are where we are because we've played how we've played over 35 games, nowt false about it. Not sure we'll finish as high up as we are either but we are where we are because it hasn't been all bad. Nowt false going on bar Colt's logic. There's nothing wrong with Colt's logic and it's not that difficult to understand - a position can be false whether it's after 5 games or 35. Sorry, but there is no such thing as a "false position". We are in the position we are purely because we have gained more points than all the teams below us. Doesn't matter if we are shit, the table doesn't lie. Maybe you think we are overachieving to be where we are currently, but that's not the same as being in a "false position". Given that we still have some top teams to play, no doubt we will end up further down than we are now. And come the end of the season, whatever position we are in will not be false, it will be what we deserve after a year of over-achieving, under-achieving or neither. Exactly as our current position is.

Rotherham away too pipes! Wasn't that more a case of poor defending and poor concentration at the end of the game? I dunno, I wasn't at the game, just going off memory. The frustrating thing about this 'logic' and thread is it does down all the good work we've done and just focuses on the negative. With some Town fans it's either 'we've won, we were lucky' or 'we lost we were shite'. We're in a 'false position' because we're 'lucky'. No, we're in the position we're in because we've fought hard to get the points we've got. We've put in some good performances this season in amongst the poor. What hope is there when an element of our fanbase are constantly dragging the club down? I'm not arguing that we shouldn't have done better in the last two games if only for the fans who made the treck down, I'm arguing that you can't ignore the good stuff and just focus on the bad. Are we lucky that our best defender by a mile has been injured since the Leeds match? We are where we are for a reason, there's no 'false position' about it.

But it's not luck, it was poor concentration and poor defending.

They think its false because they are not happy that it isn't lower so they can whinge on here even more. if we were lower down that would be an excuse to justify said whinging.
