I have a dozen or so in my old bedroom at my mum's house. Whenever I go to visit I invariably have a chuckle. Their production values were fabulously low but they were superb. Far better than a programme.

Used to do strip cartoons for HOTT back in the day and the odd bit of writing. Occasionally got some beer tokens out of it. Was a good fanzine. probably got em all somewhere.

One or two on here might remember a world before the internet existed .. No vines no tweets no wums no megalols ... Well anyway in them days there were these things called fanzines .. little comic things that fans used to write and flog outside the ground .. ours was called "hanging on the telephone " a pisstake I think of the chairmans excuse that he couldn't sign x or y because other clubs weren't responding to his calls ... Has anyone still got any of these ? Are there copies on the internet ? Any HOTT memories ? My memory tells me a bit rubbish but I was so desperate for town news I'd buy owt back in the day ..Were any on here responsible for its production ? Used to love it-especially the Chris Kamara piss takes

The problem with HOTT was that not enough people contributed to it. It was a kind of DATM of the time in a way. The lack of contribution is strange given the debates and arguments that go on on here. It was a decent fanzine at the time.

Fanzines were good because as much as people will laugh, there was some sort of editorial control - i.e. reading it back and assessing from a readers viewpoint before hitting the 'publish' button...
Nowadays there's many folk on forums up and down the land that might just try and adopt that approach before posting some of the shite that appears on places like this...
Not that DATM is exempt from a bit of shoite now & again of course, it all helps keep us sane...
Anyone seen that crown green bowls trophy?

I remember my old man buying 'TWTDMF' - always gave him a good laugh in the pub post match.
My lasting memory is of Geoffrey Richmond depicted as a toad (I think).

I must admit, when I first saw that there was somebody called "Captainslapper" on here, I did wonder if it was the same one that used to contribute to HOTT. I had a joke published in there once & got a free copy of HOTT, which arrived through my letterbox a few days after I'd bought a copy at the ground. Class magazine, I loved it.

He was probably telling everyone to take their brass down if they wanted us to sign better players.

I used to do cartoons in hott. I was only at school at the time. I also drew a cut out and keep Ian Dunn mask along with a critical cartoon focused on Kevin Blackwells goalkeeping technique ...

I used to help sell HOTT with my mate...his brother was one of the editors...I remember playing on the old Leeds Road pitch after the end of season when you could buy the match experience as part of the End of an era stuff that Town did..We played as HOTT XI against the Hudds Polytechnic XI..I still have the video somewhere..

I remember reading an article in their at the beginning of the 94/95 season I think? It was a fictional rundown of the entire season but the main brunt was that Warnocks team imploded badly and Peter Jackson returned as player manager and rescued us from relegation in hindsight it was slightly prophetic

I've got a few copies lying around somewhere - think they're from the Steve Bruce era.
