Will we chuff. We'll soldier on and say we're saving money for the summer. We'll finish just outside the religation places so season tickets will be down, then we'll sell our best players to buy cheaper alternatives.

Can't see us getting anyone in, but we sure as hell need to! No left back when we're still not safe is just ridiculous, as is operating with just 18 players, 3 or 4 of whom (at any given time) are either injured or carrying knocks.
Using Smith at LB is just plain daft, because that also weakens us at RB.
Given that we'll be in the market for a LB in the close season anyway, surely this represents a chance to look at someone now.

No chance of getting anyone in, we are gambling, thinking we are safe again, dangerous game to be playing. Meanwhile every other team will be trying to get someone in, the joy of being a town fan.

Powell said that he'd like to have his summer signings in by the beginning of July which would suggest he has targets in mind now. It might be a good idea to get one or two in now to see if they are the standard required and also give season ticket sales a boost.

Perhaps we are looking at a slightly different model for the future, or tuning the one we have. Obviously we are a lower Championship side and eventually one of these seasons the trap door will open for us.
There has been a cull of players to free up some money for next season, so that we can spend a bit more on better quality in the summer. We just don't have the revenue to be able to afford the better quality players the way we were heading. The two loans that came in were critical and we've gone into the market without spending a great deal, in order to supplement a threadbare squad until the end of the season. We were desperate for a striker (Miller) and we got a utility man to fill in here and there (Edgar), but I doubt this is the quality that we will be looking at in the summer, although Miller has performed well and might get a contract. So in effect fewer players on the books, but an improvement in player quality for next season.
So, no more loans I'd imagine this season.

Given that we're safe*, there's only any point in getting anyone in if we're looking to keep them on in the summer, or if we really don't think our academy full backs are up to it yet. May as well give some youngsters a chance to get some experience, as we look to be doing.
*I know we aren't technically safe, but realistically we are.

Signing someone of Edgar's ilk is sure to boost season ticket sales! You do realise he's only on loan as back up and will go back in a couple of months? What's your opinion of Miller?

I think Miller has been fantastic One we've actually got a contract on, with options at seasons end. Unlike the much maligned, some would say deservedly Edgar. Let's not assume Powell will get them all wrong, he didn't at Charlton did he?

Think we will bat on with what we have till the end of the season. Then sign 2 or 3 players in the summer to replace a couple more that may leave, those who are expecting an influx of players are going to be pissed off IMO as all the noises coming from those around the club point to minimal signings.
Wouldnt be surprised to see a couple of players signed that Powell has had before, maybe Lawrie Wilson and Johnnie Jackson with Miller given a full time deal.

Can't see us bringing anyone in until the summer now.. Apparently the type player(s) we're looking for aren't available according to Powell?

Well if he thinks we are safe he is deluded because we arnt yet, If thats the mindset of thge club we are sleepwalking in to a difficult situation.

Need 2/3 loan signings for me.
Left back, centre back and quick winger to replace Bunn or if he's going to be fit, attack minded midfielder.
there has to be numerous players out there, better than ours, needing new contracts next season or why we don't try and deal smartly and try and take on loan 1/2 of CP's targets with a view to signing them permanently when the season ends.
Not safe at all, teams below us performed well at the weekend and will pick up points and we can't rely on current team to get us safe as consistently let us down - please at least bring a new defender in!!!

Why not player Miller at left back so we can have another player out of position!

Or we could follow the Rotherham business model and sign as many players as we can (seems to be working for them at the moment) as they are 5 points above the relegation zone!

How can we be safe? We are Town. If there's a chance of going down we'll take it. We haven't won since Reading and I just can't see where we are going to get any significant points in our run in. If it goes down to Blackpool we will lose. We are seriously poor at times and lacking in confidence and defensive nous. To concede that first goal against Fulham from a soft corner amounted to negligence - even to allow them to be on the front foot from the kick off was woeful. We need some drive, commitment and intensity throughout the match. This is a tough league. You can't win at a walk without quality, but you can through drive and energy from the off, as Brentford and Bournemouth have proved.

For me Mr Utility (Edgar) has been babba I get the feeling he was brought in to cover a number of positions! Hmm wonder what they are! He is terrible at right back, peltier is even better than him, midfielder? Not so sure, I even rate oscar Gobern higher than this chump! Can't play centre back either! Really hope he doesn't sign in the summer!

We already have: Scannell Bunn Lolley Charles I can't see the sense in blocking a squad place for Lolley or Charles to make their mark, especially as we'll also have Hammill back next season.

"if there is a chance to go down we will take it" - seriously/really. yeah we got 1 point from the last 2 games (same as Wigan and 1 more than Rotherham) but we played well in both - bad finishing, bad defending or whatever you call it (maybe) but played well in both which makes your comments - well rubbish.
