Since day one I said powell was a disastrous choice by hoyle, a politically motivated decision which has back fired in hoyles face. Hoyles entire management choices have been questionable and granted we may not beable to attract the most ideal candidates but why in gods name would you stoop to a record low in appointing powell. theres two men within spitting diatance of town waiting to be jetted in. Peter jackson and mark lillis. I would re mortgage my house in saying that peter jackson would get town at least into the top ten if not pushing for playoffs next season. So hoyle send powell packing and stop letting him crush our club as a stop gap for his imaginative next move and get jackson in over the international break to sort this crap out. UTT

Before dealing with a poster's issues, I usually give them a 20 post bedding in time, or I find myself trying to argue the toss with Leeds/Bradford fans!

Would PJ come in after his personal problems (thankfully he's overcome) ?
I agree Lillis got us firing with some passion but as long term not sure he'd be an ideal option.
Only a month ago we had beaten Reading and were up to 12th.. Amazing how things shift in such a short time these days

Isn't this just another example of why the board should introduce a 25 post and/or 2 week membership limit before being allowed to start new threads?

Jackson worked well with a good right hand man in Yorath. Ignoring the guff the op wrote at the beginning of his post I could see a motivational manager like Jacko and a tactical wing man like Lillis working very well together.
It will never happen though

I want Steve Bruce back, not for the football but to continue his brilliant book series, I have been on tenterhooks waiting for a sequel announcement!
Here's hoping!

Is it just me who thinks Bruce is a totally clueless chancer who has somehow walked from.one well subsidised job to another being average at best without ever eroding his reputation within the game ?

You recover your credibility though by suggesting we re-appoint Jackson. Good Lord.

Wadsworth just needed more time for his 4-3-3 formation to bear fruits, was way ahead of his time.Kevin Sharp, Eddie Youds etc good times.

Jacko was brilliant for Town, both as a player and a manager but his time has been and gone. As for Wadsworth, some people have short memories! In my time watching Town, 2nd only to Supermac in terms of shiteness.

The 'likes' button says no, you're not alone. The fact hes had 3 promotions to the Premier league and an fa cup final, all at not particularly well subsidised clubs, says hes a lot better than that and nothing like 'clueless'..

To be totally honest i think there are very few really good managers now, the players are key. You either have a good self motivated bunch or an average inconsistent bunch like we have.

Couldn't agree more - has always ditched for a better offer after doing pretty much nowt... I expect people are waking up to his ability to manage on a budget - that being a budget that is uncapped and one that probably gets increased if he threatens to walk... I seem to recall Paul Jewell had similar tendencies but he's been out of the game a while now, so he may have been found out...
