Oh no, terrible news, he played in my first game at Leeds Road, 69-70 season, great player. Wasn't he a half time guest recently ?

Very sad. I remember him trying to take a quick throw-in up the touch line and shouting 'oh fucking wake up, Frank.' After we sold him to Hull in October 1971, we went down without a fight.

Was just talking about him 2 days ago with my Dad. We were talking about this match.. R.I.P. Chopper. Thanks for posting that, Pipes. I absolutely loved it, even though we lost. I was there. Great memories. Town in the top flight against THE great United side. Not Jimmy's finest hour, mind... a foul throw, a booking and a dodgy back-pass that gave United their third.

Pure Chopper gold the 2 finger salute to the Man Ure fans in the Terrace after the 'mullering' of Morgan

Not Jimmy's finest hour, mind... a foul throw, a booking and a dodgy back-pass that gave United their third. My Dad was there too mate. I was one or two year old. Was jokingly telling him off just 2 days ago for not taking me. I was telling him Chopper got booked and he didn't believe me because you 'had to do a lot to go in the book in those days'. The last game in which Law/Best/Charlton all scored in the same match.

RIP Jimmy, my first thoughts were of the Man Utd game, I was there but don't really remember it as I was only 5. I do remember Jimmy being 'enthusiastic' when tackling.

Jimmy's daughter in law Kelly worked for me while I was landlord of the Ivy Green, and Jimmy and his son Kris were regulars and besides being a Town legend he was a genuinely great guy. R.I.P Jimmy
