I said the same 12 months ago. I felt this time last year that Katherine Hannah was delibrately stirring when hosting the HTFC games, every text/email/tweet regardless of win/lose/draw was ALWAYS a negative one. It was as if they would only read out the negative crap, and use it to stir the pot somewhat and cause unrest. O'Regan is a miserable bugger at the best of times, so she'd just happily set him off whilst reading out the most ridiculous messages that they could find. There was nothing objective in the slightest in what RL did, and it was in massive contrast to how pro Town they were prior to those chestwankers getting back on RL. You then contrast that to the Adam Pope cringefest of bigging up everything Leeds do, and you get a massive contrast in the two coverages. If I worked in the clubs Comms team I'd definitely try shake things up with RL because they don't help us by assisting in the creation of the apathy over the club. C**** Caught the tail end of the summary of the Fulham game, and Oggy was describing the game as flat, etc. I know the first half performance wasn't up to the 2nd 45 minutes, but in the summary Oggy was making out we were terrible. Complete contrast to what I saw, and might in some way explain the reaction of some fans on here who hadn't attended the game and possibly listened on RL? Also, how come Oggy never does our press conferences? Its always either Katherine Hannah, or Adam Pope, and Radio Leeds get to take the vast proportion of time to put questions to either Powell or the player who is present. Fully agree Gents - Radio Leeds coverage is a joke ( Oggy aside - although he can be a little negative on occasions ). I understand the station is there to comment on news, performances and transfers however this should be a balanced view and the last time I looked it was part of the BBC and a national corporation. The station never misses an opportunity to give OUR club ( and always remember it is OUR club ) a kicking as does the Evening Post and the Yorkshire Post. I would not be surprised if the club were pissed off with the slant they put on events. The Sports Panel on Monday hosted by Katherine Hannah and including Adam Pope is bloody L**ds fest. Christ almighty you would have thought they had conquered Europe again ( yeah OK! ) getting a point at Blackpool - thanks for that Clarkey - and having the luck of the devil at Fulham. Oggy if you read this stand your ground and bloody grow a pair and shoot them down a bit. As fans and members of the this forum we need try and get behind the club - yes comment when things need saying ( and there has been plenty to go at this season ) however not wait in the wings for the slightest opportunity to put the boot in ( you know who are boys ! ). The main conversation after most games in the pub is the comments of ORegan et al and thinking if they have actually been to the same game. Unfortunately with recent results and lady luck deserting us at the moment we are loading the guns the plenty of ammunition.

But we are getting battered every week!? We are 4th bottom over the last 10 games and 2nd bottom over the last 6 in form. 10 games is not short term. Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I'm worried that we could go down at a time when the club seem to think we're coasting to the end of the season in safety. I've seen this before. Once bitten and all that.... What grounds do you have for saying " the club seem to think we're coasting to the end of the season in safety " ? I must have missed that press release A good example is the thinning of the squad and not replacing anyone. Hammil, Ward, Stead and Gerrard amongst others out. Miller is the only real addition to the squad, as Reece James is just a direct replacement for the returned Robinson. I'm not really sure why Edgar was picked, it's certainly not down to footballing ability. We have a squad where we do not have adequate backup for several positions, such as to bring Lolley on, Scannel has to be played out of position on the other wing. The general feeling is that we are trimming the squad down now and will replace in the summer. A very risky strategy IMO.

I'm guessing Adam does them because its local for him so its just easy/cheaper rather than have someone go out of their way for a 20minute chat where the manager and a player guardedly say pretty much what they said the previous week.
"Yes, its a disappointment / we're buzzing / we deserved it / just one of those days..... we'll brush ourselves off / work on it / look at what we did right / look at what we did wrong, it's in the past now / its something we can build on / its something we can learn from.... this week we'll be taking the squad away for a couple of days to freshen things up / work hard to ensure that doesn't happen again / look at how we can nullify that threat...... here's a name of a player Ive heard of when I looked at their last teamsheet just now, Jordan Rhodes, we all know what he can do and we'll work hard on preventing that / exploiting that.
The atmosphere is camp is a bit flat / is electric, theres a great bunch here, we've got some great kids coming through who might get a bit of a taster over the next month or so / who aren't quite ready yet / who we'll try and get a loan move sorted out for them.
Vaughan has picked up a bit of something with his ankle / knee / thigh / calf... its nothing, he should be ok for Saturday / next week / 3 months. Lolley is feeling a bit tired, but other than that, we have a clean bill of health..."
No idea where Oggy is based?
PS...Theres a Hudds Town special on Radio Leeds from 6pm to 7pm next Tuesday.

We're second bottom on form currently over the last 6 games. Do you seriously think expert commentators can ignore that and pretend all is good? They don't live in DATM fantasy land! Well the same expert commentators/pundits dont mind doing that for Lee@s, one of my mates who goes to watch them home and away always jokes about how they dress up there performances! As a pay on the dayer id also add that the majority of games I do attend the post match reaction on radio leeds always seems to undersell our performances.

It is Radio Leeds after all.... what do you expect? We are rivals. I'm sure Radio Nazi Germany didn't big-up our efforts during the war. Just stop listening to them. They are not our friends.

It's the media - they get paid to be controversial & stir up things. RL do an OK job for me if you use them to listen to the game and ignore their opinions.
If you want a whinge about someone then I'd recommend you listen to Alan Green at every single opportunity. No doubt you'd be sending him letter bombs within a week...

I've never understood why some Town fans have such a downer on Radio Leeds. After all, it was originally funded by Leeds City Council, was transmitted from Meanwood Park and covered Leeds exclusively, so there's no wonder it still shows favours to its local football and Rugby clubs.
Since Huddersfield is the eleventh largest Town in this country, perhaps we should have our own local radio station and then fans would have no grounds for complaining that other local Towns and Cities receive better exposure/coverage.
As for Oggy and Keiren, they'll both do for me because they tell it as it is.

They only want to cover Leeds but are happy to take license payers money from Huddersfield - can't have it both ways I'd be interested to know if anyone sticking up for RL has a vested interest. I'm just a fan, no links to RL or Town and in my view they have too much of a "down" on all things Huddersfield. I have nothing historically against RL but have formed a view after listening to their coverage I know others who share my view as well

I should imagine a lot of it is down to Leeds Utd simply being more interesting / bigger / more newsworthy as an entity to discuss.
At Town we don't get owners barricaded into the ground, we don't get Managing Directors quitting, then a month later being duped into oversea travel where they're imprisoned (he's STILL locked up I think?) in an alleged multi million pound embezzlement case. We don't employ TOTAL unknowns as manager and sock them a month later, twice. We don't sack managers the day before a game against our local rivals, smash them, and then reinstate the manager.
Our owner doesn't get barred from owning football clubs, or get on stage with the Pigeon Detectives.
Say what we like about them, but they don't half have a lot of interest going on. Town are (thankfully) boring in comparison.
Throw in that they're winning a few games at the moment and that caps it. We got much more out of Town on the Radio when we strung a few wins together.
Plus, the Town hierarchy are probably all busy learning Chinese in any spare moments.

Radio Leeds is no different to radio Sheffield who started broadcasting from a studio in Sheffield and they are still there. They also favour Wednesday and United in their match coverage, as opposed to Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster & Chesterfield, who come under the same catchment area.
Lets be honest, both Sheffield clubs are bigger than their local rivals and the same applies to Leeds when comparing them to Bradford and Town, whether we like it or not.

Do folks think radio leeds make up the powell out/not good enough/football is garbage and boring style texts which have permeated the air waves in recent weeks?! No - they simply regurgitate the stuff sent by town fans as expressed directly to them. We rightly laugh at leeds fans being deluded when after 2 wins they will win every game etc, but ffs some of our moaners would text in after a 5-0 win and say poor last 20 mins and my pie was cold at half time!!!! O'Regan has been spot on for me particularly at home - when we start with a tempo and an urgency we do well.....when we start like against fulham - slow, ponderous and give away a shite soft goal again tits all very very flat! Yes he might be a bit ott at times, but thats cos he cares and wants the club to show the form it did in seppt and oct when we went 8 games unbeaten more often..............there is no excuse for some of the dross served up at home since xmas full stop and more power to oregan for saying so imo.

It's the only station town fans can listen to who live afar and have to pay a premium for that privilege. If you live in the RL coverage area and follow town then you'll listen to the commentary and also anything town related. The club should do all they can to get on with RL as it's free advertising and a free way to sell the clubs to the masses over radio.

I guess you were all too busy getting outraged to realise there was an HTFC special tonight on radio leeds
Since I mentioned it a few posts up I decided to listen on my 15 min journey tonight.
A coughing woman, a whispering man, some lunatic Dean Hoyle disciple who thinks we're going to be top 6 next season seemingly for no other tangible reason than, "well Barnsley got promoted out of this league so why not us", and a kid who thinks that Town v Blackpool could be a relegation decider (for us). Throw in presenters gleefully reading out a seemingly endless list of puns from Leeds and Bradford fans and it became a wasted 15 minutes.
Can't Dean or Chris or Nigel or Sean not just give a 15 minute interview... they're always very keen to "if you'd like to come down to the club I've got an open door and we can discuss it there", so why not extend the offer to radio presenters??
Well, maybe not Nigel.

Have to disagree with most of the comments regarding radio Leeds! Think their coverage of town is pretty decent tbf! Seems to be pretty equal between Leeds and town! If I was a Bradford fan I would feel a bit disgruntled as they are hardly mentioned! The Monday night football panel is always a good listen and they go into town in depth! My only crictism of radio Leeds is that they big Leeds up too much! Even when they were below us they were amazing and not going down, whereas with us they keep saying town are always looking over there shoulder etc, could get dragged into it! In my view neither club will go down this season! I know we are in shocking form but I can't see us getting dragged into it either, we will win another game this season I'm sure! Don't understand why it's between us and wigan, from what I've seen from Rotherham and Fulham even though they beat us recently they are worse off than us, same goes for reading they were diabolical when we bet them 3-0, what makes them so safe when they have a cup semi final to concentrate on too!
