Finally someone who can take a corner!
He had a good game, his heading leaves a lot to be desired though!

did seem to be in the right place at the right time and timed his challenges well, better than just being tall?

Thought he did well, but not as good as Robinson yet. Needs to not try dribble it out of our box too, twice he lost it, could have been punished. Solid home debut though, hopefully continues.

He did ok. Defensively it's clear he's not as good as Robinson but he has a fantastic ball on him. I'll judge after a run and not on the odd outing so far.

His positioning play was very good and he was on the post at corners, something we don't seem to do.

Thought he looked very promising. Exactly the sort of player we should be signing on a permanent.

we would probably be able to sign him permanently if he does do well. Doubt he's ever going to make it at United they have Luke Shaw who is younger and much better.

6 April - mark the date. The first proper corner we've seen all season. We done young man - Pace, height, dip, there to attack in swinging and far enough from the keeper. Excellent.
Good game though looked exposed first 10 minutes (2 v 1) and Varney beat him for the goal

We even resorted to Dixon taking them at one point this season so I think Powell has been searching for alternatives. Majewski is probably one from one though and it was a peach.

My comment was firmly tongue in cheek thus the smiley face. I was surprised to find that we'd scored so many directly from a corner - I only remembered Hudson's at Derby, the stats site listed 2 more (Lynch at home against Watford and Wallace at Cardiff) but they were after a few touches rather than a single header.

Didn't Lynch score direct from a corner at Fulham as well - or maybe it was a free kick. Think it was Wallace that scored at Watford.
What are the stats on defending corners this season. My gut feel is that we have improved a bit but I can remember Smith scoring for Ipswich at their place, Kermagent at Bmouth and that daft one v Fulham - suspect there are a few more that I'm burying!

Impressed with this guy and would be looking to take him on a full season loan next season if Manchester United are agreeable. Not sure he can claim the goal though, clearly an own goal!!

Corners are his ace card, positionaly spot on and can take a throw in 15 minutes quicker than Tommy Smith. Sign him up and just for note I think Robinson was class before he sadly got injured.
