Only 2 serious candidates fir the award...Butterfield or Scannell. I'd like Scannell to win it but it'll be Butterfield.

Surprised no one has mentioned Bunn. Lynch and Robinson deserve a mention but the real winner is Butterfield for me. Apart from a special mention for Scannell you've pretty much summed it up there. not bad for a bloke who watches all the games on the radio

Between Scannell and Smithies for me. If I have to pick one, Probably Scannell by a very mere margin.

Butterfield, Lynch, Coady, Scannell, Smithies have all had very good seasons. Butterfield pips it for me on a week in week out basis. Hon mention for Smithies who I had a lot of doubts about but who has really turned himself into a top notch keeper.

Could easily be any one of Butterfield, Scannell, Bunn, or Smithies. If Lynch had played more games he'd be in that list too.
Scannell for me.

Lynch has had his best season for us, a real classy, imperious defender. When he's injured we suffer terribly.
Robinson was getting better and better- another classy player in the making.
Smithies most consistent season so far, still improving.
Scannell much improved attitude & performance. He's been a consistent threat.
Bunn excellent until injuries curtailed his season. Good goal return. A great prospect.
Butterfield takes it for me though. Always trying to create, keeps possession well, first class work rate, a great first season.
No real world beaters in our side but finally our players have by and large performed close or at least closer to their potential more often than not. Still much room for improvement on the consistency front though.

It has to be Butterfield or Scannell for me
And I genuinely can't decide! Very tough decision.
Scannell has completely changed the dynamic of games all season. Some amazing performances, he's left some left backs for dead.
Butterfield has consistently been the creative midfielder that we've needed for so long. He's added some good old fashioned hard tackling too! Burned out a bit during the mid season though...
Cant decide!

Smithies for me. In my opinion he's up there with the best keepers in the league and a lot of our fans don't seem to realise how lucky we are and how hard it would be to replace him.

I am surprised that Otium does not have a magic formulae for calculating POTS. based on number of appearances, touches in a game, cards received or how much tea they supped at half time, that sort of thing

Butterfield, but Scannell gets the "back from the dead" award.

Butterfield has had a great season but Smithies just pips him in my opinion , he has been excellent and so underrated by some Town fans.

Joel Lynch by a country mile. to win a player of the season by a country mile don't you think you need to start more games than lynch has ? No.

to win a player of the season by a country mile don't you think you need to start more games than lynch has ? No. I think a bloody minded supporter of a certain age could say that Lynch had probably the worst game of the season v Bournemouth at home whereas Wallace had one of the best games of the season blotting Wilson out v Bournemouth away. Lynch has been great after that first match and, like Smithies, has reached a very high level of quality and consistency.

[/quotei Serious question...what makes you think he's up there with the best keepers in the league? For the last few years we have had one of the worst defences in the Championship and for all the defenders we have had, he is the one constant in that time... while I actually think he has improved this season, can you even name, without googling/checking other keepers, 10 regular Championship keepers?

Butterfield. In my eleven years of watching Town he is the best midfielder I have seen.
Honourable mentions to Smithies, Bunn and Scannell (Scannell certainly the most improved player this season)
