I feel sorry for Redfearn he seems like a fairly decent bloke. I don't feel sorry for him at all, he's drunk from the poisoned chalice, Thompson the same, greed before need. Redfearn will come out of this well to be fair, he's acquitted himself well as a manager at this level.

Never thought i'd ever feel sorry for a Leeds United manager but Neil Redfearn seems like a decent bloke and he must surely be wondering what the hell is going to happen next I'd feel a lot better for the bloke if he took his obvious talents to any other club I quite like Redfearn and just have a feeling that he will eventually manage Town at some point in his career P.S. I am not wanting to get rid of Powell.

I don't know how you keep the faith or your spirits up. I heard Trevor cherry on the radio yesterday- furious and he was bang on. It's just one absolute debacle to the next for 10 years or more now. A pal of mind takes his lad and all he'll know is leeds as a joke. It's wrong. People like Cellino shouldn't be anywhere near our national game. From what I've heard it's only going to get worse too. Leeds fans majority, who go, are just loyal football fans deserve better. I've heard the young prospects/English lads will be sold and more Italians bought in the summer with Cellino havering control over all team affairs. Redfearn has no chance. Italian players allegedly smoking at half time v Fulham, and Thompson went off his tits. Then got suspended. It's the gift which keeps on giving. Where did you hear this Gledholt? Not seen this anywhere else but would kind of tally up to events , timings etc ?

Tbf I have no time for Thompson, couldn't wait to fuck off! Looking from the outside, he wasn't Powell's man, so perhaps understandable he would want to leave and go somewhere where he was a core part of the setup, even if it was the Beeston circus.

I enjoy an occasional foray in to the YEP comments section (they seem to have changed their minds about blind loyalty to Cellino) and it was discussed on there. Some bloke reputedly on the inside posted something on Facebook specifically alleging that Italian players were smoking at half time v Fulham. You may have to dig deep - but it's there somewhere

Tbf I have no time for Thompson, couldn't wait to fuck off! Powell brought Alex Dyer in as assistant manager. Awkward and not surprised he left a non position.

Ex town legend says
I would sack them and take the PFA (Professional Footballers' Association) on. I don't think players can do that, it's scandalous and it's just another story for Leeds United that is disgraceful. I don't know exactly the players and it might be one or two of them have got a good excuse, but it sounds too stupid to be true.
– TREVOR CHERRY
Leeds shit club, absolute joke

You may have to dig deep - but it's there somewhere I posted on here a while back that I have an insider source at elland road who told me ages ago that they ( the club officials ) have had real problems stopping Cellino smoking in the stadium, and that includes the dressing rooms whilst he was giving his pre and post match talks. Because the owner was smoking the italian players thought it was fine to smoke too and the changing room resembled a crowded tap room before the ban.

Maybe all the Italian players are having problems with their lungs due to all the smoke they've been inhaling!

@apopey: #lufc Marco Silvestri's dad Claudio on Facebook defends his son & Antenucci over injuries. He thinks the other 4 " made a stupid protest."
@apopey: #lufc Silvestri's dad Claudio says Marco is furious with what the others have done to his reputation with the fans. Translation to follow...
@apopey: #lufc Claudio Silvestri :"He is furious with those assholes because he took the whole season to make his name through the fans and ..."
@apopey: #lufc Claudio Silvestri "... now he is risking to spoil the relationship with them and with the environment ..."

Just hope it wasn't a dirty protest!

Redfearn will come out of this well to be fair, he's acquitted himself well as a manager at this level. I am not sure what you mean greed before need for both Redfearn and Thompson. For Redfearn it seems he has just pushed himself forward to become a first team coach/manager from managing the academy, that seems to me as just bettering himself. Some might say how can you better yourself by coaching/managing Leeds but it is what it is, he obviously thought he could do the job and most certainly no matter what happens to him from now on, other clubs must surely look at him as a potential coach/manager. Thompson I accept may be slightly different since he left one post for another but needless to say was he actually surplus to requirements at Town? I may have misunderstood what you meant but think the term greed before need was a little harsh

6 players who don't really have any sort of bond with the club, other than their wages.. non game late in the season meaning overnight travel etc etc.. we are not going..thats it..clearly all aware they will be being paid next season..

Taking your first managerial position in a club you love is understandable though, and in his position I expect most would have done the same. I do agree though he's unlikely to be terribly affected by any outcome, he's done well in the circumstances

Deffo damaged goods in my opinion, once he went to the skip.
Roy Ellam went there at the same time but forgave him after he gave away 4 goals in his first game for them (at Chelsea I think) and rarely played for them again.

Always stood out in my Dad's old programmes did Cherry. I was at Greenhead College with his son.
Played twice as many games for Leeds as Town, indeed I remember the back end of his career.

Now I feel ancient. Played against him as a schoolboy. We had a very decent team, won the league and all. They only had Cherry, but still beat us in the cup (when cup games meant something). He dominated the mid field.
