Apologies to you and chief inspector 3 pipe I was all for starting a new thread, but I figured Pipes would be enjoying the moment of Dempsey's appearance, and didn't want to spoil the moment.

Has he gone to/as: 1) take the glare away from tonight's defeat for the WACCOE lot. 2) take the limelight away from the magnificent victory by English football's first superpower in Larndarn tonight. 3) he's realised what a basket case they are. 4) he doesn't like pizza/pasta. 5) all of the above. 6) none of the above. Don't really care. Hope we go above them on Saturday

That swift fingered bloke from Sardinia will have had his wallet away as he left no doubt...
Just googled Cellino - absolute nutter, reminds me of that nightclub owner from 'The Business' - that's how he seems to run his businesses...

Are we not all getting carried away. Adam Pope fom Radio Leeds (the most balanced, neutral commentator you could wish to meet) said it was all very amicable, Pearson & Cellino had an excellent relationship and we should not read anything into it, so thats fine for me. Still really fuuny to see whats going on over there though.

Could do a job here as a link between the board and the football operations. Knows his stuff and could take a bit of pressure off dean
Not a slight on hoyle and clibbens but I think on a football level he'd be more clued up

Although I guess it's not a good idea for him to reveal allegiances in his game.

Didn't he tried to get involved a few years back but Davy rebuffed him? At the time I believe Davy said he was a speculator who would be no good for us, but I guess it was about the stadium shares.
Either way, as a serial investor in sports clubs, I'm not sure his would be a positive influence for us mid-long term.

Approach with extreme caution I couldn't agree more, off the top of my head he's been at .... L666s, Sheff Wed, Hull and Derby besides trying to 'buy' us. Fair play if he does 'support' Town but I'd sooner have DH as an owner/chairman thanks.

Thankfully it failed. Thata my reasonable opinion.

Hardly town if he played 400 games for Leeds, didn't he try take them over in the mid 2000s? Frank Worthington and Denis Law spent the vast majority of there careers at other clubs didn't stop them having legendary status here. Cherry was an integral part of our last foray into the top division, deserves the same recognition as the late 'Chopper McGill' imo. Cherry was outstanding for us and just as important to the team as frank and Jimmy - bit of a shock when he went down the road though.

As a young lad of 13, Cherry's married sister and her hubby used to take me in their car to matches. She swore blind that if he ever joined Leeds she'd never go and watch. The season he moved I ended up walking to matches from Brighouse.
