For those who saw the Roses at Spike Island (Frankie Bones in the area), tomorrow's star guest is the one and only Ian Brown. Big, big, BIG Blackburn fan. I'm reliably informed that he will be in hospitality. However, the word on the street is that he fancies a bit of NSL action (don't we all!). Keep an eye out for him, although with his flares and swagger, it shouldn't be too hard to spot him. He used to love watching the Rovers win on Monday night football on Sky back in their Premiership days. He says they were really Happy Monday's.

lol! he wouldn't stand out too much these days in a factory full of knackered old blokes who are probably still too young to have ever even heard of the tedious wasteman!

So why is he always at Man United games?
Infact he's a life long United fan as is Mani.

I was at Spike Island. Never knew Brown was a Rovers fan, pretty sure he supports Utd?

Each to their own. I'd rather stick needles in my ears with little bits of shit on the end than listen to The Smiths, New Order or Joy Division.
Stone Roses were THE Manchester band.

Controversial pipes mate. Yeah each to their own... Joy division moved me, the smiths moved me, .. Stone roses made two albums. One of derivative pop songs, the other of embarrassing rock outs... They wouldn't make my mancunian top 50 .. File next to northside.

The Stone Roses broke way more ground musically than the dirge that was Joy Division and The Smiths.

OK! I made it up about Ian Brown being a Blackburn fan. And yes, I made it up about Arthur Scargill being a Derby fan. Why must you all bring me down? Down, down, you bring me down.

We should have a thread for " events I never went to and thank Christ I didn't " .... Stone roses on a cold day in Widnes... No ta Was it cold? My main memory of the day was that it was almost impossible to get a beer on a hot day. Plus too few support acts and sh8*te organisation generally. If I remember correctly the stage was on the low side and if anything the field sloped downward from the stage making viewing a bit difficult. How the day makes the "Best gig ever" lists I'll never understand (although TBF in certain circles it's nice to drop it in conversation). PS Not sure how anyone could describe either the Smiths, Joy Division or Stones Roses (first album anyway) as dirge
