I agree. Man management with these so called 'problem players' is everything. So far I think this area is definitely one of Chris Powell's strengths. In fact it truly amazes me how poor at this so many managers are. John Carver , no points in nine games.. Three games to go ... " I know what'll get us out of this mess..i'll publicly turn on my players " Was sat in the pub with my mate Saturday watching the scores come in and Carver came on and said that...just said to my mate 'is this guy on drugs?' The club are on a run of 8 straight defeats, hurtling towards relegation and he comes out and says this. He needs the players right now to get them out of this mess, this is not gonna help one bit.

We need a new centre half and Blackburn have just released Sam Jones, who according to my colleague a Blackburn fan, was one of the under 21 best players. Previously with Man City he must be worth a trial.

Jay Emmenual-Thomas, former Arsenal striker released from promoted Bristol City. Also, Nicky Maynard from Cardiff. Either of those anyone?

Read something from Bristol City fans saying that he hadn't been starting recently so they may not rate him as much as others do. Bits I've seen of him he's been very hit & miss.

He's one of those who looks good on highlights but watch him for 90 minutes and you'll tearing your hair out for 88 of it

Previously with Man City he must be worth a trial. Why are they releasing him then? Why do clubs release any player - remember Town nearly released Scanz, but for a good decision by CP we would have. This lad is class and has a good pedigree, there are a lot of Rovers fans out there who are not happy, he would be a good addition to this team and will bring both pace and vision to our defence.

Former Arsenal youth product Emmanuel-Thomas has been with City since 2013, scoring 33 goals in 103 games across the last two campaigns.
However, Cotterill has favoured a strike pairing of Kieran Agard and Aaron Wilbraham this season and said Emmanuel-Thomas needs "regular football".
He added: "It was very sad really, I've been a big supporter for Jay. When people look at him and see his laid-back style and then suggest he doesn't care - it's the total opposite.
"I know there are potentially a few people interested in him. I've spoken to people about him in the last few weeks and I've told them what a wonderful character he is."

We need a live wire up front to complement what we have. Jamie Ward would be ideal. If we want to sign Miller then I doubt J E T would be on the radar.

It emphasises the difficulty attracting and keeping 'squad' players happy.
I'd be very surprised if we went for another striker if Miller signs.

I have to say if Shaun Barker didn't have his injury troubles then I'd probably take a punt on him (if wages were right). Has been there and done it at this level and with a very respectable club!

I wouldn't be surprised if we signed a loan player from Southampton with the Ross Wilson connection and it might be worth keeping an eye on who Bournemouth and Watford decide they don't think will make it in the premiership.

Barker not played in 3 years? He'd be our sort of signing then! If he'd not been injured or was injured I'd sign him, we need another centre back, defense properly needs sorting out!

Heard from a few Crewe fans we are interested in their right back Matt Tootle who I think is out of contract this summer.
Not sure how true it is but supposedly their best player just been injured a bit this season

Reading Powell's comment about signing one or two players he knows, nailed on that Johnnie Jackson will sign Michael Morrison? Lawrie Wilson? Both possibilities in positions we need to strengthen in. morrison is loved at brum under rowett and became their captain before gettin injured i though wilson would join but he went somewhere on loan recently and if we were interested thought we might have brought him in then
