Time and time again these academy lads play big parts in pre season but rarely feature in the first 11 as the season Begins, other than when it's an out of the blue inclusion which happens once in a blue moon, would be nice to see Charles billing Holmes bojaj ect given a real go

billing and tronstad will feature heavily in pre season Brave prediction. yep,its along the same lines as my sc prediction last season when I said they were way down, they were, and whats more there down on even that total this yr......when will folk realise that we will always sell and try to promote the youth first and foremost? probably the same fuckers who moan we don't spend don't buy a sc.

2 months ago none of those 3 were deemed ready for our first team. Has a few weeks in the sun enjoying themselves suddenly changed that? Who says you and the rest of the know it alls on here? When was the last time you watched any of those play....fifa doesn't count unfortunately, billing has been knocking on the door a while,as had tronstad, Holmes attitude has held him back more than anything, the first two have been restricted because of the serious need for points, imagine in the middle of a relegation battle blooding them and there not messi, you and loads more would be demanding blood, expect them three and lolley to feature heavily pre season and if only two out of those four step up straight away we are still a player better off and two mill richer... Like i say good management.I like your optimism and I hope you're right because I've been banging on about giving the young lads a chance for long enough, but I'm not so sure Powell sees it quite like you think. He had the chance to blood the likes of Billing or Holmes in the final few games of last season when we were safe from relegation but chose not to. Having let Gobern and Coady go he may now regret that.

I predict Powell will always pick the team he thinks is least likely to lose.

If we're still looking for defenders, I hope we weren't scouting THIS one! LINK

No-one on here would have believed Bunn would have been used as extensively as he was last season if they were asked 12 months ago.
I hope we see more of Billing, Holmes and Tronstad amongst others in the first team squad on match days.
Our business plan means we have to sell young players for profit, we get 100% profit on academy players but that will be 100% of nothing if they never feature for our first team.

Having let Gobern and Coady go he may now regret that. Or maybe he was just pragmatic and picked the best team available?! Powell has already shown with bunn and indeed goburn that if you come in and do the job then you keep the shirt. The fact is the likes of billing, tronstadt, Charles, Holmes etc weren't ready for one reason or another and now have a massive 12m coming up - it's time for one or more to kick on and if they do they will play. If they don't however they will be allowed to leave or be loaned out.

Pilks supposedly in talks to return That would be a strange signing. We've got more than enough options out wide and he just seems to be constantly injured

You never know we may have had a too good to be true offer for a winger.

I don't think pilks coming back is unrealistic at all, hammill will be through the door and lolley will go out on loan!

we need strength in depth, why would we send out players on loan? how about we have a bench of top players who can actually change a game, while getting rid of those who would just be benchwarmers?
