Apparently they have only retained three players! Clarke would be a pretty solid signing for any league one club! And one of those is Nile Ranger

Why would they activate a clause in a guys contract that hasn't played since November?? Utter madness from Blackpool!

No way should Blackpool get the same points as us from that game. Bet we get only one, though. I think a point each would be fair. It's not Blackpool FC or this players fault that a minority of disgruntled fans forced the game to be abandoned & that the plod did sod all to shift them. As I said, I think a single point is all we will be given. But how is it 'fair' that you can enter a competition in which the idea is to get as many points as you can but be told you will be given 42 minutes less than 22 other competitors in which to do so? Hardly a level playing field... and definitely not 'fair'. The table should stand at 45 games played for both of us and the season forever recorded as incomplete.

He posted on his Instagram a few days ago a picture of his contract extension letter from Blackpool.

They activated his contract because he's on a pay as you play deal.
They won't play him, and he won't be paid.
But he isn't free to join anyone else or do anything else.
It's a punishment for him going AWOL.
Apparently so, at least.

I disagree. The only difference between this and other occurances where games were abandoned due to crowd trouble is that UEFA were in charge on those occasions and automatically awarded a 3-0 win and 3 points to the opposition even when it wasn't the fault of their players. Personally I'd say the FL should follow UEFA's lead and give us a 3-0 win and 3 points. Can't think of a half decent reason, let alone a good one, for them not to do that.

It doesn't really matter what the decision is, does it?
And hopefully we can finish above Leeds next season in regulation.

Technically Leeds will be negatively affected as they will finish one position lower in the league, which could affect their prize money. But who cares about them There is NO PRIZE MONEY!! I have no idea who instigated this thinking, but it's simply not true. No need to shout

There is NO PRIZE MONEY!! I have no idea who instigated this thinking, but it's simply not true. No need to shout We might not receive extra money from the FL for where we finish in the table granted, However the higher you finish in the table does have a effect on the TV coverage the club gets and can also have a massive effect on extra finances such as sponsorship extra, For example a company wishing to sponsor a club in the championship would favour a club finishing in the top 10 rather than 21st granted we are only talking about 1x place in the league but that can have a big difference to potential investors to the club and even more so when your competition is your local rival.

With the Football League deciding the game would not be replayed, I honestly can't see any other outcome than we be awarded the three points.
Imagine the boot on the other foot, would we be surprised if Blackpool were awarded the three points? Would we expect to be awarded any points? I think not.

Us finishing 15th or 16th would have an absolutely minimal impact on any 'extras' like sponsorship. As for us finishing 15th or 16th having an effect on the TV coverage we get, that's rubbish, us finishing 15th won't make us any more likely to get any sort of extra coverage than if we finish 16th. Leeds did nothing last year yet have been shown numerous times as they're a big club regardless of where they finished last year (certainly don't think they did anything special from memory). Apart from that the main thing that affects how many games you get picked for, especially early in the season, is how big a team you are (eg Wolves are bigger than Charlton so would be shown more than them early in the season). Once you get to the 2nd half of the season it's all about if you're battling for promotion/the playoffs. If you're not, then your only hope of a TV game is if you're playing a team in 1 of those situations, otherwise forget it (you only have to look at the number of times the teams in the top 8 were picked from Easter onwards compared to anyone else to see that).

Excellent point that mate & probably the best reason I've seen why a draw should not be the outcome. After 48 minutes, Blackpool didn't actually have anything. If the result is a draw, then they gain something out of it, which can never, ever be right. Case closed!

Common sense says Town should be awarded the three points otherwise pitch invasions for teams needing a point on the last day will be standard operating procedure.
However this is the Football League and as they already said nothing was riding on the game it would not surprise me if they called it 0-0.

I'm currently taking bets on the number of different threads we'll get when the lazy fat cats at the FL finally announce their decision.
Minimum 5 I reckon.
