What's everyone's thoughts on next season? The dust has settled from last season and Powell is now planning the new faces he's requiring to take us on to the next level. I'm hoping with the way we finished last season that we can really kick on and build on the momentum we started to build in an unlikely strong finish to the season and come March time still be in with a shout of a play off place. Town seem to have turned a corner and if we sort out our defensive frailties who knows where we can go next season. I'm quite optimistic for us next season and think we could be one of the divisions surprise packages. Here's hoping

12th-15th realistically, top half would be nice!

If Powell can bring in some decent full-backs and key players stay fit for the majority then I think top half is very much achievable.
If we get that extra bit of luck of our strikers hitting form (similar to Burnley of 13/14 season) then play-offs could be a possibility but certainly shouldn't be expected.

I'd love to say play offs but unlikely.
This season has been a bit of a strange one, its been the worst of the 3 since we've been back for me, thats my take, I know some don't agree. What I will say though I was pleased with the finish to the season even though it was more steady than blistering promotion form.
I think if we can bring in what we need, keep the consistent perfromances then I'd say top ten has got to be the aim.

Have a gut feeling we'll sneak into the playoffs.
Or maybe it was the relegation zone, I can't really remember.

I'd like a higher league position, quite a few entertaining games (including giving someone a thumping), a couple of acadmey players to establish themselves and be able to complete 46 whole league games!
Is that asking too much?
As a bonus an away cup game at Spurs, Liverpool, Villa or Man Utd could be thrown in!

Top half and a good cup run, including a big scalp, should be the aim. Get a good centre half and left back in and keep all our key players and we should be comfortable.
With the way we finished this season we have nothing to fear so I want to see us be on the front foot and take the game to the opposition.

About the same as this year. I can't see any big signings on the horizon, which I reckon at couple are needed to get near the play-offs.

Got to be aiming for top half next season, but would be happy with a couple more places higher up the table and not having to look over our shoulder at any point.

Need to lift our expectations and be challenging for the play offs. Don't necessarily need to strengthen the squad - as long as the existing squad plays with a rocket up its arse. Big lesson from this season (and many others in truth) is that if we are well managed and play with intent and tempo we can compete in this division.
A pair of fast, aggressive full backs would do no harm though.

start next season playing the way we finished the last one..cut down the number of games that passed us by without us making any significant strides to win them.
2-0 up or 2-0 down play the last 20/25 the same way..cant see us being able to significantly change the back 4 or adding steel to the central midfield area so playing in the oppositions half will still be our greatest strength.
Powell to get away from the modern coaches idea of overthinking and over preparing to 'play' the opposition..We certainly saw it in action last year many times and we looked 'confused' and 'dull' at best..

I'm quite looking forward to next season, maybe I'm just being overly optimistic but something is telling me it'll all click next season and we'll finish a lot higher up and surprise quite a few.
My prediction is very few signings in summer, which will naturally lead to quite a lot of negative comments and people moaning. But then the season will come and we'll get off to a good start, and actually manage to keep it going unlike the previous seasons.
The team finally starts performing consistently like we've all been wanting. Nahki has a great season and comfortably gets 20+ and Vaughan manages to stay fit for most of the season because he's rotated with Miller and nets around the mid-teens while Miller also plays his part. The midfield is balanced in helping attacks (and scoring) while helping out the defence. The defence actually do their job and give us a more respectable goals against column.
A good use of the loan system and one or two of the promising youth players breaking through, and Powell will have done his job of helping us overachieve. Play offs here we come.

6th. Wells league top scorer. Lose in play offs to Derby/Blackburn/wolves.
Edit: They are my realistic hopes. I don't do expectations.

4th season in the Championship coming up, realistically got to be aiming for top half of the table possible top 10.
The additions in crucial areas such as CB, LB, CF will go a long way to show how well we will fare

How about us having a bit more positivity and expecting a good push for the top six with 3 or 4 quality seasoned championship additions. We had a bad start last season accumulating in us looking for a new manager, and clearly players under performing. Dean Hoyle said he had expected a top 10 finish last time so I see no problem in us having our sights set higher next season For once, if we can sort out our defensive problems!!

You would like to think that this season would be the baseline for what Powell can achieve. He inherited a squad that wasn't his own (though one that had been strengthened over summer), he had to cut the size of the squad in the short-term to enable him to strengthen in the long-term and he didn't have the luxury of a pre-season.
This season we've comfortably been lower mid-table. I would like to think that in his first full season, Powell will be able to elevate us to upper mid-table and as such believe we should be aiming for the top twelve. I believe that as with every season at this level so far, we will enter next season with a better squad than last. However, I realistically can't see us having the necessary strength in depth to make a sustained challenge for the Play Offs, barring a fortunate season with injuries.

I personally want a top 10 finish. We have some decent younger players in nahki/lolley who should be improving each season and i hope lolley can break through next year as he obviously has some real talent.

Here's hoping I'm similar, but my optimism is tempered a bit due to the word 'unlikely' in your post. That was my thoughts at the time, there didnt really seem to be that mich different in our approach or performances when getting the results compared to the longer spells when we didnt get results. So, as usual, I expect we'll do slightly worse than I'd hope for, and I expect we'll all get giddy about signing some quite ordinary players. And ultimately finish somewhere between 12th and 22nd.

Hopes ???Well my hopes are to win the championship, the FA cup and the league cup. My(realistic)expectations are to again not get involved in a relegation battle which we managed to do easily this season, and to finish higher than we did this season, although nowts for certain.
