It would be nice to finish with 60 plus points and a steady finish to the season. I expect a positive and entertaining brand of football now Powell has done what he had to do

I hope we could get near the play offs. Teams like wolves and Ipswich are not that much better than us and managed to get in/near.
Realistically I would hope for a season like Blackburn-Wednesday excellent attack or defence. But unlikely to have both. And over 60 points in the top half.
At worst just above the relegation zone.

We should piss this league! Top half finish shouldn't be too far out of reach imo.. 2/3 key signings & we should be pushing on, hopefully!

Been saying for a while CP knew what he wanted and penny dropped with a lot of squad towards last month of season ..Now if he gets his targets and they gel quickly then minimum should aim for is mid table, play offs definately should be aiming as there is no need to aim low anymore and how no ambition and upwards as sets negativit in the mind before we kick off.

depends if Deano opens his wallet up again and we add recruits like we did last summer. It would be nice to flirt with thetop 6 places for a while, just to see what it's like...but I'd also like us to get some glamour in the FA Cup, either a decent run to the 5th or 6th rounds, or a big name club and live on TV in the earlier rounds... We've slipped below the radar a bit in recent years...become boring and unglamourous... It might help too if we don't have the usual 'bad patch' during the season... One thing though, we need to put more than the 48 minutes effort we did at Blackpool last season, lazy sods...

Top 10.
Good transfer window and it could be top 6.

Glass half full. If we can start next season as well as we finished last we'll do ok,
I live in hope (every year) for a repeat of '69/'70 but I have to admit that it's probably more hope than expectation. Unless; we can unearth a washed up Manure wing half and buy him for £1700, a tough tackling jock who hasn't quite made it darn sarf, and a bunch of super-fit highly skilful juniors. Oh aye, add in a brilliant future England centre forward and a high quality future international defender and we should (as somebody write above) "piss this league)
Dream of happy days

Heart says we can go into next season as we finished this and have a better season than this and finish top 10. Head says we will have our usual flirt with the bottom 3 and finish about the same as this season.

If Ipswich can get into play offs spending only 110k this season then so can we.

Hopefully above mid table. Steady progress. We must stop conceding so many goals though. I'm predicting between 10th to 14 th.

Need to be aiming for playoffs/top ten then at least if we fall just sort we will have have had a good season, fourth season back I would have hoped we would got passed the just happy to stay up mentality and really look to push on. With the right signings at top ten finish isn't out the question its wether we get them though and I'm not sure we will so I think we will probably finish around the same as this season.

But we have been when it counts the most, for periods during the last day of the season. I'm worried we may try to run next season on an even tighter budget and get dragged down nearer the bottom. A couple of decent signings might help, but I wont hold my breath after the clear out over the last few months. Mind you, ya never know.

I'd have thought the opposite would be the case.

I would say 10th to 16th would be acceptable. Possible flirtation with the play offs before Christmas before hitting a poor patch that sees us slip out of any real contention.
I really hope we start well because I think that can make a World of difference to confidence levels.

I am hoping we get more Sky appearances so I can watch those overseas. I want us to show some solidity. 12th to 15th is a good shout. as long as we are never loitering above the drop zone so confidence gets affected.UTT

In Chris Powell's time at the club we were the 14th in the Championship between all games played from Sept to the end of the season so would like a finish to reflect or better this.
AND a better fist of the Cup competitions

When were we last in the bottom three 'when it counts the most'? May 4th 2013. PS. In what way will the clear out over the last few months be an indicator that we won't make a couple of decent signings? I'd have thought the opposite would be the case. In the effort to get as many as possible off the wage bill, we left ourselves short in certain positions, which we didn't replace. It looked more a money saving tactic than getting rid of dead wood in my opinion.

Surely it was a case of saving money by getting rid of dead wood.

Marcus is hamstrung by the fact he never sees the team.. I cannot for the life of me understand why you would contribute to a football forum forwarding strident views delivered with certainty under such circumstances

Surely it was a case of saving money by getting rid of dead wood. Off the top of my head and without ploughing through old line ups. Dixon went nearly 2 months before Reece James came in. When JR was injured, I thought we had all sorts filling in at LB. Ward and Hammill not being replaced left us short on backup on the wings. To bring Lolley on, Powell had to move Scannel to the left wing. In the 14 or so weeks between Stead leaving and Miller coming in, we had periods of only 1 fit first team striker.

Pillock. Typically aggressive... I was making a serious point... It's like me going on Tranmeres forum and having an opinion... Walter is spot on... We got rid of the dead wood and our best football came towards the end of the season But carry on
