What is your very best, and very worst, memory of supporting Huddersfield Town? For me the best was winning 2-0 at Ewood Park (Worthington 2) to clinch the Second Division Championship back in 69/70 Worst - Home loss against Birmingham when 5 results went the wrong way, causing us to go down in 2001. God I felt so sick that day.

Best moment the play off win down at Brentford after the penalty shoot out. The worst by a country mile is the defeat to Birmingham on the final day of the season when we were relegated.

Said it on another thread. Best watching that penalty creep over the line at the other end at Brentford in '95 and the celebrations after, somehow that was better than Billy's winner at Wembley. Weird. Del Shannon at half time, never heard a whole away end singing along to the half time music before, or since. Worst? Peterborough made me cry in '91 and '11. Bastards. The play offs at OT was probably the worst. Convinced myself we couldn't lose. Lost my Dad a couple of months before, had his with me, wearing his watch, we just couldn't lose, he wouldn't allow it. Watching them three goals go in was absolutely awful, then the drugged up wankers kicking the shit out of innocent folk with nobody seeming to be doing anything about it. What a fucking shite day that was. Daft thing is, Ward squares the ball to Peltier early in the second half instead of being greedy and we win that game.

Another bad one for me was failing to beat Wimbledon at home in the FA Cup 5th Round. Leading 2-1 deep into stoppage time I said to my mate "all we have to do is defend this corner and we've won". As the ball came into the box I swear I could see 3 defenders and 27 attackers - result 2-2 and we lost the replay.

Bit predictable but - Best, probably Simonsen's penalty and finally getting back up to the Championship.
Worst, Birmingham. Closely followed by Peterborough (semi final, my first major disappointment in football) and listening to Port Vale fans singing "Glad all over" what felt like every 10 minutes as they pummelled us in to the bottom division.

Tommy Cowan, all 5' 8' of him, said that he would have headed it away if Steve Francis hadn't got in his way. I remember Ian Dunn and Boothy being criticised on MoTD for not running down the clock.

Similarly the cup tie v man city in 87-88,a truly crap town team almost beat a team who had beat us 10-1 previously,a last minute free kick making it 2-2 for man city, after another good performance to earn a 0-0 draw in the replay at main road, we naturally and comprehensively lost the 2nd replay back at our place 3-0.

As with several others, worst was losing to Brum to go down in 2001 closely followed by the Old Trafford playoff final defeat. For best I think Chris Billy's winner at the old wembley just pips the most recent new wembley victory.

Best, Simonsen's penalty by a mile.
The most depressed I think I can ever remember feeling after a match would probably be the 4-0 defeat at Macclesfield. Probably the only time I genuinely remember thinking I'd just had enough.

Best - The Wembley trips and Lincoln (a) 2-1
Worst - By a country mile Peterborough 1-2 in the play-off second leg. Truly awful evening that started so well

Best was probably Bournemouth in the play offs just for the excitement and Wembley against the Blades.
Worst would be first game this season, losing 4-0 at home, birth of the NSL, whole season in tatters on and off the pitch.... Relegation in 2001 was pretty horrendous as well, me and my Dad didn't speak for days after that game.

Best moment. Probably Bournemouth semi final. Never seen an atmosphere like it.
Worst moment. Relegation to division 3 with a crap team. No money and into administration.
Old Trafford wasn't my worst. Credit to Peterborough, they hammered us in those 10 minutes and deserved it.

Huddersfield: Vaesen, Jenkins, Lucketti, Gray, Armstrong, Heary, Holland, Thornley, Baldry, Booth, Facey.
Subs: Margetson, Moses, Irons, Gorre, Gallen.
How did that team go down?

Wembley in 95 & 2014 were brilliant days but the one that stands out for me is the the playoff final in Cardiff 2004.. To get promotion only months after nearly going extinct with all the academy players in the team was a proud moment as a fan.. It was the rebirth of HTAFC imo!
Sticking with the Playoff theme, Old Trafford against Peterborough was one of my lowest moments following town.. Grim day!

Dave cowlings goal vs Newport 1983 that secured promotion .. at their expense .. that posh game in the play offs in the nineties.. we had been so dominant at theirs we thought all we needed to do was turn up

Best moment... Predictable but the Brentford penalty shoot-out I don't think will ever be matched for me. I would still like to meet the blokes I went mental with as the last penalty went in Worst...Can't remember the exact year but we were awful and getting relegated when someone jumped from the terrace and attacked the linesman. It's the nearest I've been to saying fuck it in my 38 years watching Town Maybe someone can remember the game/year ?

Worst - Marcus Stewart being sold for a fraction of his value, to a rival for promotion, complete with the bullshit we got from Ian Li-Ayre afterwards "We're on the verge of signing Tijani Babangida, Tomek Iwan & Daniel Fonseca" - we signed Chris Hay instead. Honourable mention for Port Vale away, getting absolutely dicked and relegated to a division I'd never seen us play in before. In fact, pretty much everything that happened in the 3 1/2 years following the sale of Mr. Stewart was crap.
Best - Simonsen's penalty at Wembley. In fact, the whole day was bloody brilliant. Honourable mention to Brentford in 1995. Another honourable mention to promotion in Cardiff at the first attempt after relegation & starting the season with 8 players.

Worst memory is definitely league 1 play off final v posh. Was one of the first away games (with mates) that I went to been around 16 at the time. We hired a coach over and went to a few pubs and loved the atmosphere before the game. Was a bag of nerves waiting for the match to start. When that first goal went in i felt like bloody crying then a matter of seconds later it seemed like the other went in. Never felt so shit in my life. Best was definitely when i went to Wembley to watch us get promoted to the championship. The journey there felt like forever, plus we got stuck in that bloody traffic for hours and we missed the first 30 or so. Had some crappy blue and white wig on all day drunk as fuck. When i saw simmo's penalty go into orbit i'd never felt happier.

Best- Simonsen, after the first 3 penalties to then go on and win was truly amazing. Watched the shootouts again last night and I reckon Johnson missed on purpose, it was that bad.
Worst- not been mentioned yet but the Barnsley 2nd leg was a truly awful night. Having gone to oakwell where we never win and nick a 1-0 to then do what we did was heartbreaking. Threw my town shirt in the bin that night.
