Think he'll struggle at Leeds due to the Italians involvement in first team affairs. I wouldn't mind Redfearn in at Town in some capacity, even as director of football because he's certainly got more experience in football than Ross Wilson has and also will have many more contacts. Is Ross Wilson destined to be the new Lee Clark on here? Experience as a player in the game doesn't necessarily make him better than Ross Wilson or surely Southampton would have tapped him up as his time at L666s was destined to be short-term. If that's what you think then it's your prerogative. Ross Wilson is going into a different role at Southampton and isn't the main man like he was here. He's got Les Reid as a boss then whoever is above him. He's gone to the PL but his job and responsibilities are not as high risk as when he was here, good luck to the lad but I've not lost any sleep about him leaving.

I kinda got that from your first post. Quotes from Les Reed upon Wilson's appointment... “As with all player and staff recruitment, we have undertaken a thorough and intensive search for a new Director of Scouting and Recruitment. We are delighted that process has led to this appointment.
“Ross comes to us from another progressive club in Huddersfield Town, where he has been Head of Football Operations with a strong emphasis on player recruitment and analytics. He has extensive experience at clubs in England and Scotland, and has built a strong network of contacts in the UK and abroad.
“He is well-respected in the industry and, as an executive director at Huddersfield, brings with him a level of experience in senior management, which will contribute to keeping us at the cutting edge and ensuring due diligence is applied to all of our recruitment procedures.
“Ross will work across all age groups from the under-nines through to the first team, and will lead our recruitment operations into and through the next five-year plan.”I have no issue with Redfearn, but his role was the Lillis type job running the L666s academy and in this role he has merits but to be the quoted "Head of Football Operations with a strong emphasis on player recruitment and analytics" IMO is a role that he would not necessarily flourish in just because of his years in the game.

Redfearn and Powell played together at Charlton, don't suppose there is likely to be an opening for him in our backroom staff but I wouldn't mind if it happened, seems a decent bloke and steadied a very rocky ship at Leeds. From what i've heard did a good job in their academy...not sure if we have room tbh...but imagine he might look for a first team role somewhere now.. Think rosler is a good appointment, would have liked him here, but this is leeds under cellino...pointless appointing a good appointment..be gone in a few months..

I'm surprised nobodies grasped the concept that Lillis will now be a wanted man by various clubs after the good work he's done for our academy. Obviously I'd hate to see ML leave, and his bond with club is unquestionable, however if a premier league club approached him, would he contemplate it? It's moot anyway, as previously pointed out, Readfern will get a job coaching or managing a team at this level I would think now.

Not sure about Rosler. Good at brentford, lousy at Wigan. Leeds fan I know has heard they were turned down by Warburton and Poyet first. Thing is with an owner like that, no manager with any stock is going to be willing to work in those conditions. Its a job for the desperate, which after wigan, Rosler probably is.

With an average like that, he would have been on target for 68 points in a full 46 match season - if that's a lousy record, then my "pr-ck's a bloater"

He inherited a very good wigan side full of very good premier division players, and after initially getting them to the play offs ( as a side like that should really), the following season he had them in the relegation zone when he was sacked well into November. Id say that counts as doing a lousy job!

Think redfearns job is the most secure in football tbh, he ll return to the academy if no clubs come in for him, then be promoted to first team manager in September when Rosler is sacked, just in time to play us, as per!

Can anyone on here please tell me exactly what Russ Wilson has ever achieved in football?
A key job at the 7th best team in England.

Can anyone on here please tell me exactly what Russ Wilson has ever achieved in football? - As for Rosler, he's got loads of experience as a player and has done OK at both Brentford & Wigan and he left Wigan with a 40% win record, which the much rated Malky Mackay (although not by me ) could never match before he was shown the door.
As for Rosler, he's handled 343 games in his capacity as a manager at various clubs, including Brentford & Wigan and he has still ended up with a very respectable 43.44% overall win record.
So, providing Cellino allows him to get on with the job he's employed him to do, I see no reason why Leeds won't flourish under his stewardship and lets be honest, if Hull get relegated and Boro fail to nail Norwich, then we will have no Yorkshire side in the top division.
So for me, I don't care which Yorkshire clubs find there way into the Premiership as long as at least some do, be it Town, Wednesday, Boro, Rotherham, or Leeds, because I'm fed up to my back teeth in seeing all those teams from across the Pennines hogging the limelight.
LINKIt's thanks to people like Russ? Wilson that managers like Rosler can achieve their success.

To be fair Guardiola would struggle at Leeds with the chairman effectively signing the players and having a big input into the team. They'd have been better sticking with Readfern who did a good job in the face of a load of interference from the chairman, can't see Rosler lasting long whether he decides he can't work under those conditions or Cellino bullets him. I'll give him until Christmas !!!

It was a disappointingly low figure of only 3 managers last season for Leeds. I was expecting a couple more than that. Fair to say that Cellino's ban might have effected his performance in the latter half of the season, but with that now out of the way I expect him to get his average back up next season. I give Rosler until late September.

I'll give him until Christmas !!! Redferns problem was that he did better than expected while Cellino wasn't there to share/take the credit. Cellino even claiming the credit for some of the academy players getting in to the first team because he sold other players so that Redfern had no choice but to pick them. Leeds will be in better shape in August with Rosler than last August with Hockaday.
And Rosler will be given time - Cellino now expects to have to wait unti 2017/18 for PL football at Leeds instead of the initial target of 2016/17:))
