He was also the first manager in recent years who was signing players for the championship on a championship budget. It's also worth pointing out that despite signing these players he wasn't the one to get the best out of them. Were the likes of Stead, Hudson, Majewski and Peltier not on Championship wages then? I agree i.e. getting the best out of players but my point was, that a high proportion of his signings were good. Hopefully Powell can be as astute this summer. His signings on the whole were better than Robin's, I was just making the point that it's wrong to compare his signings with the managers from the previous decade as they were all in lower divisions.

Grayson seems to know how to get teams out of league one. Shame he's massively out his depth in the Championship He never was with Leeds. I liked him more than Robins and Clark, it would have been interesting to see if he could have turned it round with us. I'm glad we didn't wait to find out! Pretty much nailed on that we were going down if he'd stayed imo. Completely agree that he didn't underachieve with our friends & neighbours up th M621. Nor did he underachieve with Blackpool imo - Holloway got the credit for taking them into the Prem (& rightly so) but he built that on the foundations Larry put down.

The football we played under Grayson in those 12 matches or so before he got sacked was the worst we had seen since Ritchie. It's easy to forget but it really was awful My rose tinted spectacles aren't prevailing I assure you. I remember, I'm not saying Hoyle wasn't right to sack him at the time, we stayed up after all. But 12 games, is just 12 games and for me, he was by far the best manager in the transfer market from recent years.....Clayton, Norwood, Scannell, Beckford, Vaughan, Lynch, Southern. Food for thought. I'd agree about most of them but Southern ?!! Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

What?, a quality striker like Beckford and we want him back?. Hell no!, he used to play for Weeds or L@??s or Scum or L***s like our narrow minded small town local yokel fans like to refer to that Club as. He is quality and our inbreds that can't even refer to Leeds (LEEDS) as a city and / or club need to get a life. Hoyle, push the boat out and sign him!. They will always be yiddy scum, if you don't like it go cry with your mates at Bellend road Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Quality striker who has a great knack of doing it in the big games when it matters. Not worth the money forked out on him....but how many are. Will never come back here though and will hopefully stay to reward the manager who has stuck by him with Leeds, town and now Preston. Good luck to him and also to tom Clarke who deserves massive praise for not allowing his early injury woes to ruin a good career.

Like Shawsie says, JB usually delivers when it counts. If he earns well cos of that then fair enough.
Grayson is a good manager imo & he definitely knows a good player & how to put a squad together on a budget for the league he's in.
Well done Tom clarke. What a turn around for a guy who's career could've very easily been over years ago. Look forward to seeing him back at Town.

What a one sided game that was...Swindon were never in it really...Mind you, Swindon fans are a pretty obnoxious lot, from my experience, so PNE better for us next season. They look to be quite a tough side and might surprise a few next season...but if beckford leaves them they'll need a couple of decent strikers for their game plan to work... So we got MKDons, Bristol City and PNE in place of Blackpool, Wigan and Millwall...then in place of Bournemouth, Watford and probably Boro we have Burnley , QPR and Hull City Tigers.... The Championship seems to get tougher every season..

Similar debates on our boards , personally would have him back tomorrow at Leeds if the powers that be want it to be so. Big game player with a fantastic eye for goal as proved yesterday.

tbh I think he will just stick with Preston. Playing well for them and he is with a boss that knows him better then anyone (even though he will probably be sacked by christmas) so I reckon he will just stick with them. If they offer him a contract of course! be crazy if they didn't

On his day he is quality, knows where the net is but he didn't really do much for Bolton at this level but if you can give him service at this level he will be banging them in but in a struggling team at this level I just wonder about his worth.

Can you imagine Uwe being able to give it the " arm round the shoulder" treatment that Beckford obviously needs?

much as I dislike Garner(who can fall over if the wind turns) he and Beckford were very effective together this season..
Swindon were dismal at best yesterday..a lot of useless possession.. we have seen that ourselves..
Beckford back in the shop window?

I'm not sure about Marcus but think a member of his family was close by the PNE bench grappling for Beckfords shirt when he threw it across to some young fans... Dressed in pink IIRC...

Pictures all over Twitter of her snatching the shirt of a young lad. He looks really upset. Her partner is also seen grabbing hold of the lad to make him let go of the shirt. Disgraceful. And all she can say is, my benefits were stopped on Thursday so I need the money. This is unbelievable.

She was a disgrace.Should be ashamed of herself. No self respecting fan should even think of buying the shirt she stole from the child.

He's shit MarcusD says so Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards No, he's OK at League 1 level but seriously overrated as a Championship player, who's never got into double figures. Considering how much dosh he was on, I don't see him as good value.
