An international left back a much better option than James, who I thought was a bit of a weak link in games towrads the end of the season (e.g. Chris Burke ran rings round him at Forest). Hope this happens.

is he better than James? Really?
Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko 7m7 minutes ago For the Huddersfield punters. Jason Davidson is the left back. Flew in yesterday, signs today. Should have been in the paper. Hey ho.

Still a young player with potential...good reputation at International level by all accounts just needs a run of games, something he will get with us

Not sure how you can say that with any certainty MK... Let's be clear he didn't pull up any trees at West Brom and must be seen as a bit of a gamble... welcome to huddersfield jason, it will certainly be I teresting to see how he does .. But I'll be honest I would have loved to have seen Reece James at town

Isn't it time that we consider that, of all positions, Powell should be able to pick out a decent left back for us?

Certainly think he was at the back. I was never convinced by James' defensive capabilities. Think a lot have been blinded by his set piece delivery, which was excellent. Never even heard of Davidson, so can't comment on whether he's an improvement or not.

Panini Brasil 2014 sticker Save that for your next book There won't be a "next book", mate! I have the time, the info, the resources, the software and I also have the funds, but selling the buggers is a right pain, pure and simple!

Hope this happens. Have you seen him play much? I've never even heard of him I've seen him play a fair few times for Australia. He's always been excellent for them. Never seen a club game of his though. Australia are a pretty cohesive unit lacking in any real stars. The coach (Ange Postecoglou) is very good at getting the right players for the right role in his style rather than just finding the best players and trying to build a team out of it. Davidson happens to fit very well into Postecoglou's philosophy. I don't see really any Huddersfield games at all, so I don't really know what the style is so much - so I can't really say how well Davidson will fit. Presumably Chris Powell thinks he'll fit in nicely, and I hope he does.

Don't know much about him and I'm always sceptical about signing a player who's hardly played any games recently but at least he's young. Hopefully contract will be shorter in case it turns out he's no good.

We still need another left back if this guy signs don't we? can't see us signing another out and out left back, could see more of a versatile defender who can cover there coming in smoothie

We still need another left back if this guy signs don't we? Lynch? and get another CB? Then you have Smith/Whitehead - New CB/Hudson/Wallace, New CB/Lynch/Wallace - Davidson/Lynch Its a little threadbare, but If we got another quality CB, we could manage all but the worst of injury crisis.

We won't sell another left back, we have Smith and Lynch who can cover and probably an academy player coming through.
I would like to see us sign a solid centre half now although I get the feeling we may see Coady in that role next season with Whitehead taking Coady's place

FWIW, Wikileaks says his playing position is "Left back / Centre back / Defensive midfielder" so that would give Powell lots of cover around the back!

This is a signing for the Championship manager experts amongst our ranks who seem to always recommend some obscure player from somewhere. Never heard of the lad personally, hope he turns out to be a great signing. At least it blows my theory that Powell will only go for experienced players he's been after or has signed before.

De Jong has done him there, though... to be fair. Sanchez is about to do him. Robben is doing him. De Jong has done him.
