2 good signings in a week , we have got rid of the dead wood and have improved the squad , really looking forward to the new season ...........be great if we could bring in a centre back and striker but ive a feeling that could be it on the signings front....just need the likes of Lolley and the U21 lads(Billing Holmes Charles)to really step up the competition for places and we can do well next season imo

Thought Robinson was over hyped & not very good. Reece was far better than Robbo, & showed far more promise than Robinson - UTT. Disagree. Once he'd settled in I'd say Robinson was probably the best left back I've seen at Huddersfield since Jamie Vincent had that 6 month spell in which he looked like an absolute world beater Yeah agree, Liked both of them but people seem to prefer James cos he was good at corners, which isnt really the point of your left back. Robinson looked much better defensively

Maybe we'll sign a dev squad kid Quality CB would be nice but thats never likely with us.

Another left back to provide competition and as cover for Davidson, especially as he will be on international duty at times and a centre back, then I think that'll be it. A striker would be nice, but not essential.

A striker would be nice, but not essential. We won't be playing on international weekends, unless the aussies play at different times?

If he had got that game time and proven himself, then he'd be out of our reach though. Agreed. Hopefully Town fans will now start to realise this is how we do business - find players that are just starting to reach their potential or are 'under the radar' to develop and sell on. If they haven't sussed that after the last couple of years ......

Released by west brom :/ gone from Robinson to James to Davidson none of them will be better than Robinson we need to sort this hack four out How do you know? Yes, he's not good enough for West Brom. Robinson isn't good enough for QPR. Doesn't mean he isn't good enough for us. I'll wait until I've seen him play before I start making such bold judgements. You may end up being correct, but it'll be more down to luck, than your superior knowledge of a player you know nothing about, like you would have known nothing about James and Robinson, before they signed for Town.

Just got feedback from my rellies in Oz - they reckon that he plays like Tim Cahill. Sounds promising.

When he said there's '20+ thousand at derbies', did he mean our derbies as in Leeds or as in the team Derby?

Pleased with this lad coming I think he will a good player. I wanted James and felt he was far better than Robinson but no point having a bidding war with QPR. A quality ctre baCk is still required IMO as Hudson has not really plugged the gaps and turned out as good as expected and I would have liked us to sign that beast Austin from the skip

This is from when he signed at West Brom but is interesting in how he is being "developed" as a generational Socceroo. www.canberratimes.com.au/sport/soccer/socceroo-jason-davidson-goes-offscript-to-sign-for-west-bromwich-albion-in-the-premier-league-20140806-1015bf.html?Socceroo Jason Davidson goes off-script to sign for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier LeagueAugust 6, 2014 - Liam MannixJason Davidson’s move to West Bromwich Albion in England’s Premier League was never part of the plan. The tyro left-back, 23, has been working to a strategy laid down by his father, Socceroos legend Alan Davidson, since he was young. After two successful seasons in Holland and a breakthrough at international level, the plan was to head not to England but to Germany, where the youngster’s toughness and resilience would be forged. At least, that was Alan Davidson’s plan. ''Up until a month ago the Germans were still on the cards,'' the elder Davidson told Fairfax Media. ''I pretty much had total control of everything till now, and Jason’s made a point to me – he’s said Dad I want to go to the Premier League. So we sat down and talked about it, and it was his call and I agree with him.'' When Jason was named by coach Ange Postecoglou as Australia’s first-choice left-back last year, he could say only that ''it's been a long time coming''. That gives you some sense of the long-term planning that has gone into his career – everything he achieves now built on a foundation that begun to be laid when he left Australia, aged 14, for Japan. Alan, who is based in Melbourne, is extensively involved in Australia’s youth development programs, and used to operate his own soccer school. But he chose to send Jason abroad, a decision which is now paying handsome dividends. ''I’d been following world football with youth development, and FIFA had recognised four nations of leading the world in junior development – Brazil, Argentina, Holland and France,'' Alan said. ''About 10 years ago they’d just elevated Japan into the same category.'' Japan achieved its elevated ranking after recruiting Brazilian coaches into its development academies. Japan’s national team is now ranked No. 45 in the world by FIFA, while Australia languishes at No. 76. ''What was appealing to me [about the Japanese system] was the Brazilian flair in a very structured, regimented and hard-working program,'' Alan said. ''One of the most important things for us was his development in touch and skill. That was one of the reasons he went to Portugal. Then he moved over to Holland which was the next stage – skill and structure. The third stage of that was going to be going to Germany. Into the hard work with discipline and structure.'' The elder Davidson forged a career largely in Australia as a dashing left-back – but his son came through the junior ranks as a striker. That’s a position crowded with the world’s most talented footballers, and Davidson senior feared his son would struggle to forge a career up front, recalls Ezel Hikmet, director of football operations at Hume City FC in Melbourne’s north. ''As a junior he was a striker, but Alan Davidson actually thought Australia and the world lacks quality left-backs and Jason’s got the stamina as an athlete. He pretty much taught him,'' he said. Hikmet remembers an intensely talented – and intensely driven – youngster who was always surrounded by a team of his own support staff. ''Kids would rock up to training and play and go out with their mates after the game, Jason would rock up to the game and afterwards have an analysis done with his dad. He was destined to make it. They’d take down personal statistics of his game, how many effective passes, how many efficient runs, it was pretty full on.''

Well we've had the mix of youth & experience in first 2 signings so let's all hope for a well balanced team to push on with for next season.
