Just heard this on local news. To be honest, I'm amazed that he lasted as long as he did after last season's palaver.

And ... Powell moves up another rung on the 'longest-serving managers' ladder. Crazy!

Weird. I mean hes a bit of a fruit loop, no doubt about that, but he just kept them in the prem, pretty comfortably in the end! I could put up with a manager being a card short of a full deck if he meets his objectives.

Yes Cap'n, but I would suspect that 'achieving objectives' would also include being media-friendly, not ruffling the feathers of home fans, and being able to control his charges whilst on tour, not least being responsible for the actions of his son. Not all are possible, I'll agree, but we all know what chairmen, directors and owners are like, don't we?

How about he wanted to spend the money that the owners want to trouser on new players ?

Good manager. Anyone who treats the media like the vermin they are gets a big tick in my book. Clearly there are many on here who prefer automatons with no opinion and a lack of personality. So what, if someone is a bit eccentric or reacts in an unorthodox manner to pressure? The game is boring enough as it is without every last sliver of character being squeezed out of it.

Whats the betting they appoint a media darling called Harry Redknapp and get relegated?

He's more interested in an international opportunity # a little deluded Think he'd be ideal for Leicester at the mo. He knows how to play the percentages and keep a team afloat. They need stability for a few years in that division. They could do worse for now, anyroad. Ps. Sorry about the other thread ( . ) I hadn't seen this one. suicide

However he won't be " sexy enough" ( literally) for the Thais But he don't half love himself... His arrogance is only usurped by his bosses at West Ham who think sacking him and bringing in a foreigner will improve them.. Town will play the first league game at the Olympic stadium .. You heard it here first from Ted""nearly 20k" chips

Which no doubt is where he will end up Bellend Road Speaking of which...Brentford have agreed a €3million deal to sign FC Twente defender Andreas Bjelland (not the best name). Decent signing for them. Where are they getting the cash from?

It's the awful incident with moron son that's done for him. I don't blame the owners either. It's their club they don't have to put up with employees attitudes/behaviour like that. He's a capable manager but there's plenty others out there, & with a bit more tact/professionalism than NP
