Saw him a few times last season and wasn't very impressed, he was beyond useless in the play off final where he looked like he couldn't be bothered to move
That said he did get a few goals. Too similar to Miller though really in that hes big and a decent target so not quite sure why we would want another

The Michael Smith who is a striker for Swindon or the Michael Smith who is a defender for Peterborough? In all honesty I haven't heard of either of them, but after checking wikipedia, I like the sound of the Swindon one.

I thought the OPs mate was going to sign for Town and move up here with his sister, who happened to be with Michael Smith?

If he does sign he'll likely be back up for Wells, Vaughan & Miller.. His stats look ok for Swindon though.. 57 starts & 10 sub appearances has yielded 26 goals in league & cup since January 2014.

I had to google him, but he looks good, only 23 years old and scored 15 goals in league 1 last season, 18 in total. Swindon fans seem to rate him too, started 35 times last season for a team, who just missed out on promotion last season in the play-off final. Was once under Powell at Charlton, so you never know.

my mates sister goes out with Michael smith and he's moving up here to move in with her to complete his deal for town. My daughter introduced Sophie to him and he's not moving up here to sign for Town....Scunthorpe have made a bid....which is more his level..... and i reckon you know that if you have spoken with her brother Jack !!

Can we sign someone who I have actually heard off and not have to Google. You mean like gudjonsen, kilbane, alan lee?! Quite happy for us to go for unknowns......the likes of rhodes, novak, bunn, smith seem to serve us better than the more well known ones in recent times.

I agree with you and you could add David Unsworth, Gary Naysmith and Kevin Gallagher to that list over recent times, but don't know what was wrong with Kilbane. I quite liked him.

Scunthorpe United are set to sign Middlesbrough forward Luke Williams, so doubt they'll be signing Smith as well, but you never know...
