You couldn't spin a game out to three hours here with beer on tap at your seat, we'd either all leave to go to the pub or else the whole thing would decend into a full scale riot !!! Got to admire the way he yanks can spin a game out to 3 hours in order to sell as much advertising / food drink as possible.

If Town improved my match day experience I'd spend a bit more time there before and a bit more afterwards and spend a bit more money - instead of getting in and out as quick as possible.

baseball.. rounders with protective hats and gloves? When was the last time a rounders pitcher threw at over 100mph? I am enjoying watching Baseball, but Town will always be my first love

I don't know that ref at the Norwich home game was adamant he wasent blowing up until Norwich scored so he could have stretched it out! It's just a good job for us we can't defend else we might have been there on that freezing night a lot longer UTT

baseball- 100mph- still rounders..just a bit quicker with much more protection for the 'combatants'...
american football- girlie version of rugby...
seen both games..take too long and not enough happens to justify it..

Love baseball. Never played it, but I've played quite a bit of softball. Seen maybe 30 games live over the years, mainly in Houston whilst either living there or visiting on business trips. Unfortunately the Astros are normally pretty crap, the Bradford City of baseball! Also seen a few games up in Philadelphia and saw LA Angels in Anaheim last September, ironically against Houston.
If you understand baseball then, IMO, there's something happening all the time...almost games within games, though I appreciate it could seem slow to many. I caught a fly-ball once in the old Astrodome off the Astro's pitcher Phil Niekro who was at bat. I remember watching Nolan Ryan pitch a perfect game once live on TV, as well as seeing the odd no-hitter.....just as exciting in their own way as a high scoring game.

I can understand people not liking baseball, thinking it is rounders etc. Nuance in sport (and life) isn't for everyone.

I can, but there's then putting it across in a way that your preference is the correct one. You get it every time another sport is mentioned. Went to Buffalo Bills game last year and everything about it was better than half the football games I attend. Saw Baltimore a couple of weeks later and that wasn't anywhere near as entertaining.

Ok at first I thought you were passing a comment now I KNOW it's simply ignorance. The same as the ignorant ones this side of the pond that say that Soccer is something girls play at school.

Your telling me. Spent getting up to £750 taking the family to watch New Zealand and Aussie at Lords this season and seen Kane Williamson, Chris Rodgers and Steve Smith all get 100's and England take about 3 wickets! I feel a better week coming up at the Oval/Craven Cottage though.

I've just seen a game between Chicago White Sox & Kansas City Royals. It was rearranged from the first game of the season in chilly April, where the plan was to give out a free blanket to keep the fans' knees warm. So, they gave out 20,000 blankets at the rearranged game, played in 98 degree temperature! Yanks eh?

Don't knock it - I went to a game with a woolly mittens giveaway in 40 deg heat the other weekend, and I will need the mittens this winter. There's the owt for nowt Yorkshireman philosophy right there for you. It was a themed Snow day promotion (typical of Canada eh!)

Coming up from from Paignton Devon with the wife especially for this game ,and hope the new shirts are on sale. First time she will have seen West Yorkshire in all its glory , and think she will be impressed with the J S S. Going to mingle in an few days in York to see family. There you go, Sugy. I'm sure your wife will love it. They're a bit baggy but they hold up well in the rain. That looks like a pair of Ted's undies!!!
