Sounds like he's having a good second half, will we keep him or not?

How about, not making a separate thread for every player that is playing today, and discussing the match on the match thread that is near the top of the page?

Ran up blind alleys for the whole of the second half. This is fully interchangeable with the thread title & has been for 2 seasons. Cocky show pony. Get rid, if we can

Ran up blind alleys for the whole of the second half. correct, looked aimless and I lost count of how many times he lost the ball, failed to get past most of their players...he is alas a force no more it would seem....oh how I would love him to get his form back, unlikely though

Just needs managing and getting him to use his talent wisely - he could be excellent if he used his abilities at the right time. Probably the most skilful player we could and should have - if only he used his talent correctly - agree at present he is not showing any end product

The lad simply doesn't know when to release the ball. His problem in a nutshell. He improves on that and and you have yourself a player. He won't do that now though, he's too long in the tooth. Pity.

Some players don't have the natural ability, but have something between their ears which enables them to make a decent player of themselves; Hammill seems the polar opposite. He runs up so many blind alleys, makes so many poor decisions and doesn't know when to release the ball. He's still ended up a half decent player because he's got so much natural ability that he can get away with his poor decision making to an extent. For example, often when he doesn't get his cross in, he has the skill to engineer another half yard of space to get another opportunity to do something. If he had a footballing brain to match his feet, he'd be pushing Premier League quality. As it is, he's managed two decent, short spells in the Championship and done bugger all else in his career. I'd happily get shut of him. He's had plenty of opportunities, and I'd rather see the next one go to Lolley or Charles.

Show Pony, As he says in the interview, he's a father now and it might help him to mature a bit. Could still have a part to play if he gets his attitude sorted. Don't forget he was the top assister the season before last and the runner up in the player of the year poll.

Get rid, if we can I remember that 20 minutes when he made his debut at Ipswich and went down the right alleys. Thought he knuckled down when Robins had him at semi wing back for a while. Memories are short - didn't he won the player of the "mid season" poll on here. On the bloated squad principle though - time for him to go. Remember saying something similar about Scannell this time last year!

At least Scannell has added a massive work rate to his game - but if he was adroit on the edge of the box - he'd be operating on the other flank to Hazard for Chelsea.

Last post beat me to it, I was going to add this thread could easily be about Scannel, whose end product and delivery into the danger area is every bit as ineffective as Hammils.
I do wonder if the lack of any actual strikers is the key point.
