What a goal that would of been. We've looked much better second half. Still no Dempsey? Just come on now for Lolley. Lynch off for Wallace, would of been red.

Been better this half.
Lynch should have been sent off and more poor defending/goalkeeping
Hiwula and Dempsey looking sharp going forward.

This looks a bad injury for smithies, awful awful challenge. I had a feeling there was going to be retribution for Lynch.

Huddersfield Town Manager Chris Powell wants his players to start showing they should be in his opening day starting XI when the Terriers take on Rochdale in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Terriers kick-off at 3pm at Spotland on Saturday against Keith Hill’s side, which finished eighth in Sky Bet League 1 last season.
On paper, the Dale will pose the sternest test to Powell’s side in pre-season to date.
“They did very well last season. Considering the size of the Club and its budget, I’m sure the team exceeded many people’s expectations with an eighth placed finish,” Chris said of Saturday’s opponents.
As he stated after Tuesday night’s game, Chris is now looking to pin down the shape and style of play he wants to see from his side going into the Sky Bet Championship campaign:
The gauntlet has now been thrown down to the players to show the Manager they should start the opening game against Hull City on Saturday 8 August.

Friendly or not, you can't concede 4 goals to Rochdale.
Sort it out Town - been a problem for 3 years.

To be fair it just sounds like we were slow out of the traps. According to the Examiner guy one of their goals sounded offside and we should have had a penalty too. Second half performance sounded OK. Just need to get going from the off, starting Dempsey (who impressed again) would help in this.

Roll on August 8th, at least then the moaners will be able to complain about football matches that actually matter.

But with the ref being a Town fan - one of the Madley brothers who never get to ref us because of this - we were never going to get one, were we? Imagine the scandal ...

all football matches played between 2 recognised teams matter.. some much more than others granted but still there has to be some organisation and commitment in what you do in any proper game?
7 goals conceeded in 2 friendlies against lower league opposition is never good enough.. shrugging it off as friendlies might be ok, might even work...
Said before I dont like friendlies much, this lot like em even less it appears.. the actual result win/lose/draw isnt a problem, the organisation or lack of it is, with a couple of weeks to go..
club as a whole have got to start aiming a little higher from the top down...doing just enough/accepting just enough, will at some point end in tears..squad go through the motions again today..
to re-iterate, I dont see friendlies or the result of friendlies as too important, our friendlies last year clearly pointed out serious faults in our defending, followed by a season that just proved the point. off we go again...

We always looked dangerous going forward - Wells looked sharp, Lolley had some decent runs. Dempsey got involved when he came on, more so than Butterfield.
Bunn and Scannell were quiet, aside from the latter's goal.
Whitehead looked decent enough on the ball but didn't put his foot in too much off it.
Defensively though we were poor. Hudson in particular. Cranie at right back was at fault for their first but didn't do alot else (right or wrong). Smith isn't a left back. Lynch would have been sent off.
Encouraging going forward, not so at the back - probably as expected.
