This lad is going to be a star.
Sounded like our midfield dynamo and best player tonight.
Thoughts of those who attended?

Davidson and Dempsey were the two I thought stood out, Hiwula and Wells looked lively, Wallace very solid. Thought Whitehead looked a bit slow on the ball but no one was terrible.

As I put on the match thread Pipes, like a young shorter Chris Marsden, he even runs like him

Only one game I know but he has a hell of a lot in his locker. From tonight's viewing something would have to go very wrong for him not to have a really good career, only one game I know but a very promising start.

A shaky first half but picked up in the second and hopefully will go on to be a good player for us.

Most impressive things were his energy/workrate and willingness to get on the ball. Played 80+ minutes and never stopped running. He made mistakes but should have some moments this season against worse opposition than tonight. Promising!

Obviously a bit 'raw' but boy have we unearthed one here.

Gave the ball away in some bad places and in a competitive match we would have been punished. Wasn't impressed with his crosses or his shooting either. But he grew into the game, not afraid to look for the ball and gets up and down the pitch well. Reminded me more of Lee Fowler then Chris Marsden in the first half, only young and early days though. He Had a much better second half and was involved with almost everything we did going forward.
Felt we didn't link well as a team and I hope that's because there is alot of new faces.
Looking forward to seeing him again but I'm not getting carried away, very raw but appears to have a strong work ethic and he comes across as enthusiastic on the pitch and in his attitude of it too to develop his game.

Had a decent game, he and Davidson were the stand outs of the new signings. Like the Chris Marsden comparison, now you come to mention it, he does.

Only like Marsden in the "short of leg, long of body" style Poor first half, all right foot, ballooned one over. Good workrate, looks a 1st Div player to me.

Like mentioned above he seems to have a bit of everything - tracks men, puts his foot in, can run with the ball, and seems to be able to pick a pass. Looking at his stats at Carlisle - goal scoring dosent seem to be a problem either.
Early days but he has the makings to go and become a very 'complete' player.

I forecast here and now this post is going to come back and embarrass you Otium. I genuinely hope so, i saw nothing special. He and Whitehead were given a 2 man defensive role in front of the centre halves whilst Butterfield was free to roam. They switched places for several periods and both gave the ball away too much. Lets see.... Davidson was class, Wallace played well (unlike the shaky Hudson) and even Hiwula got two touches in the match. Not a shot on target i am afraid.

I was also impressed with him at Rochdale. Lots of energy and makes himself available for the ball and wants it. Early days but looking good

Think Dempsey will excite fans. He did lose the ball a couple of times, but he tries things that some of our others players wouldn't. He always seemed eager for the ball.
And I think he runs like Ben Thornley.

Glad you lot seem to like Mr Dempsey, did occasionally loose the ball a few times with us, but he seemed to be thinking almost two steps ahead of our lot last season, (which wasn't hard, with some of the brain dead muppets we had) Really think this move will do him a lot of good, better players around him will almost certainly make him a 'better' player, and there's one thing for certain, he'll never lack for trying.

Thought he was pretty average tonight but a good engine.

After a nervous start he grew and grew once he realised he wasn't out of his depth. He's going to be terrific for us... a very good signing.

The lad didn't have a great game, but he demonstrated enough talent, energy and commitment to make me believe he has a great future in the game. He gave it away, first half, too much but he was never shy of asking for the ball, never went missing and he was Chris Beech-esque for me in his willingness to get into both boxes. His performance was very mature for a teenager and he's as fit as a butcher's dog...so it's a yes from me, even though he'll have far better games, with much more end product, than this.
