It's beyond tedious listening to their "your cup final" shite to be honest.

I think they need some new material. Its not 2008, anymore.

It is funny though, and you only have to read through a handful of threads on here to see the obsession.

Had to laugh at the post by James7 . . . he was admitting to wearing a thong and mini skirt, nobody commented so they all must have thought it normal

would rather have the game at bellend road on tv.. save me paying above standard money to sit in a sub standard ground watching a second division match, between 2 very second division teams.
thats forgetting the abuse and being spat at by middle aged harridans and children from behind a police cordon.
I guess the obsession for some would have been 'exorcised' last year with a goal for Town in the second half at Blackpool..
The obsessive clinging to a fairly average past history from a good number of Leeds fans is why the club has for the past 25 years been able to charge them stupid money to watch average/below average football teams playing in the lower leagues.. You reap what you sow etc..

Highly amusing that they call it our cup final, they say they don't care about us, blah blah blah, yet all the evidence proves otherwise (it's been covered many times before so not going to bother going through all the evidence, we all know what the evidence is, as do their fans)

It's a big game for both sides every season, if it wasn't an extra 10,000 ish Leeds wouldn't turn up for the game at their place and a few thousand extra town fans wouldn't turn up for the game at our place. They're a bigger club and it'll annoy them that we ARE now big rivals at the same level.
It's a compliment to us that someone has gone to all the trouble of writing that especially when they don't care.

He's done some decent articles about us in the past, presuming it's the same bloke I'm thinking of who's been linked to on here before. I can enjoy a laugh at Town's expense as much as anybody (occasionally to the point where I upset a few Town fans) but when the article's foundations are; "it's their cup final", "they shag dogs" and "they don't have electricity in those parts" you do wonder whether there's a sense of irony in the suggestion that it's ourselves who are a bit backward and behind the times

Thing is most of this extra support that turns up at our place is leeds fans, we struggle to take 2k over to leeds and the attendance is still in the low 30 thousands, our cup final? Don't think so! Might be to wahls and a few others on here but not for me, just another game!

So derivative at best and bloody repitition at worst

So derivative at best and bloody repitition at worst The one I remember referred to the theory we and other teams used to raise our game for 'our cup final' and compared results after teams had played Leeds with their result against Leeds. It was well written and funny. But it was about 3 years ago and this doesn't even add anything to the cup final routine other than 'they don't have electricity over there' and 'they shag dogs'. And I should know about recycling the same old jokes. But then, I don't have much control over the joke when it tends to be our defence year after year Rochdale Friendly Report

The guy that's written that comprehensively confirms my inner wanker theory. Although the repetitive shite he churns out would suggest the wanker is also external in this case.

That Rob Atkinson fella who wrote it is a brave man displaying his face by the articles as he's certainly opening himself to ridicule looking like that.

But then, I don't have much control over the joke when it tends to be our defence year after year Rochdale Friendly ReportThe article you refer to, Danny, roblufc.org/2013/11/11/post-leeds-united-cup-final-syndrome-is-reality-for-huddersfield-and-millwall-by-rob-atkinson/comment-page-1/#comment-6621And the bit you reference. Quite apart from the annoying regularity with which these dingy little clubs raise their performance levels against Leeds, another noticeable factor is the slump in performance immediately afterwards. It’s as if the players, egged on by their desperate fans, have given every last drop of blood, sweat and tears and then gone on to draw on hidden reserves to complete the job, leaving them shattered and drained. What inevitably happens next time out is that a team of pale wraiths take the field, and smile wanly at the applause due to them for beating Leeds, and then capitulate to whoever they are playing, simply too knackered from post Cup Final Syndrome to offer any resistance. Don’t take my word for it. Check out the facts. Curiously, last year after their win at Elland Road, they enjoyed this run of games - but they did beat Blackpool!

Yes, I agree with that.
I commented on that blog and at the time Leeds had gone on a similar barren run after beating Donny.
Perhaps Donny could be an extra cup final for them.

Didn't read it. No intention of reading it. Articles about Huddersfield written by chest thumping marching on together Leeds fans just do not interest me. The champions of Europe can earn their promotion this season like they have every season for years. I'm good being a poodle. UTT!
