Alex Smithies: - Bid has been accepted, and move is now down to the player. Alex does not want to leave, however his hand may have been forced due to someone within the hierarchy of the club. Chris Powell does not want Alex to leave, and there has been a discussion with Powell and the board, and so I believe a 'strong' disagreement.
Jacob Butterfield: Interest from Derby and Bournemouth, although no 'official' bid has not been submitted, talks have been ongoing, and we should expect to receive one.
Dean Hoyle:- Become somewhat disillusioned with life at Town. His family have been wanting him to sell for some time, and they will get their wish. With any potential sale, this may or may not include Canalside. Dean/his other company are the Landlord of Canalside. For the avoidance of doubt this 'asset' does not belong directly to HTAFC, and isn't in the clubs holding name. A potential sale could see us paying rent for the benefit of Canalside. There has been expressive interest from two separate party's, and I can confirm, one of the party's involved does not agree with DH valuation of the club.
Chris Powell:- Very unhappy at town due to various failed promises by the board in relation to our recruitment. There were 4 'key' targets he had identified towards the back end of last season, and he only has one in Dean Whitehead. Chris did not make the decision to leave Alex out of the squad at the weekend, he was told that Alex wasn't available by the Chief Executive. There are various rumblings within the club and one or two 'senior' players have voiced their discontent at the sale of 'key' players without any 'established' replacement.

Sounds like we dug ourselves one deep hole what the hell is going on

It would be nice if the club would turn down a bid for our players more often.

As much as I respect everything that Deano has done for the club. Maybe the crossroad is now..... he isn't prepared to put the money in to move us to the next level... nor should he be expected to do!!!! So new investment is required, he's got us in a great position if he can leave the club debt free and let the new owners invest heavily.
This year does have the feeling that we are preparing for a sale. Maximising ticket sales, slashing the wage bill, selling our replaceable assets etc. Or he could just be saying we are no longer going to run at a loss and the club must start making money.
For me if you take away the fans and my own loyalty to deano..... its time to sell up.

When the manager spoke to alex saturday morning if alex said he had no interest of moving im sure he would have stayed. no one is forcing his hand and he will decide not the club.2 the butterfield situation could happen as could scannell but its all hearsay so wait and see

All this and the fact he has become a Dad hasn't left him in the right place to play.

Regardless of what is going on - I hope that if Dean does sell up, we see him again in the stands as a supporter. He should never pay for a drink again.

This thread is made for you Nick. Why ? It sounds very true to me. It sounds plausible, but it could be utter bullshit. There's probably an element of truth in some of the points, but it's a poor thread, and by a 1st time poster who could be on a complete wind up mission.

If there are offers on the table as the original post says (dubious I agree) then maybe it's time for deano to start listening.... These offers may be from people that won't move us on. In which case I doubt deano would sell up.... Overseas investors are buying lower down the food chain every year as the ones above us are mainly owned by owners in it for the premier league riches. So there will always be interested parties, deano will have to find the one that gives him the best return, but also safeguards his hard work. Not an easy prospect.

Let me clarify; No formal offer has been made by either party for the club, however talks have been ongoing. One of the Party's interested approached Dean a couple of years ago, at which point he wasn't interested in selling.

I don't believe a word.. Anyone can post anything on here & claim to be 'in the know,' but the reality is, no evidence is provided to support his/her claims & being a first time poster, has no credibility. It amuses me that Nick instantly believes a random poster with absolutely nothing to back it up though! If it's all true I'll hold my hands up, but in the meantime it's nothing but piss & wind!

Gerrard was released, and is effectively a 'free' to any potential suitor. Where's he playing now ? what does that tell you about the player ? is the player somewhat undesirable for one reason or another ?

Fair game. I expect to be met with scepticism, and rightly too. But I'm struggling to understand how I could provide evidence lol. I suppose a lot of it is down to trust, as you rightly say, this is my first post. All I can say to you is watch this space

We have a lot of first time posters popping up to spread seeds of discontent. Right or wrong, I don't personally place you in that category. Please don't prove me wrong

unrulyintern, before everybody gets even more negative could you please tell us where you got this information. I notice that you are a brand new poster but I'm sure you could back up your statements if they are true. Thank you.
