Appearances - 49 (not Inc. Previous loan)
Contract remaining 12 months.
Wage - likely to be one of the top earners.
Long term future with club?
Likelihood of clause in contract - payment to previous club, wage increase, contract extension etc. AFTER 50 games?? How's your head James?
Blame Powells tactics all you like, this club is preparing for League 1. I think if Powell keeps us up it will be a minor miracle in footballing terms that will largely go unnoticed by the majority of shortsighted fans who grumble like contrary Mary on her period!

I know this Vaughn situation is doing my head in.For Jeez sake I`ll buy him some bloody Panadol .It is time to evaluate whether we keep him or pay up his contract, possibly from our over inflated ticket prices or the sale of AS.

I don't see much point in paying up his contract unless it is for quite a bit less than we would actually pay him should he stay and see it out. You may as well have him available when he is fit if you are paying him anyway.

I was getting at the fact there is nothing wrong with him!
He plays another game it costs us (he's on 49). So we are likely to be trying to get rid desperately as he has no LONG term future with us.
I could be wrong but this clash of head story sounds like BS to me.

Are we trying to sell him and protecting him from further injuries?

He is not the player he was and I wonder how his teamates ( I say that term loosely) feel that someone who may? be earning far in excess of what they are feel about him always being out injured ?

So his injury problems are proof that we are preparing for League 1 - how does that work.

Contract - June 2016 Wages - £15k a weekNo future I agree about clause Not sure about planning So it'd take £1 of every £30 spent thru the turnstiles x 15,000 to pay his weekly wage in leiu of home games. But in effect £2 out of every £30 to cover the clubs zero income for away games to cover the wages of the away games.

Someone told me yesterday the club were being asked to pay up his contract so he could move on, I dismissed it as bollocks to fair but given the farce surrounding Smithies going I can see some truth in it now. In any case we've already got a League 1 striker in Miller.
At least if we get relegated we won't have to worry about shifting a load of high earners out, they'll already be gone. Will Vaughan be the next out of the door ? Personally my money is on Butterfield to go next.

Unfortunately I am coming round to that way of thinking too. A real shame that his obvious ability is being undermined by his injuries. There was a time when his goals meant he was worth keeping even if he only played half a season. Now, when he plays, he looks half the player he was. Nothing against him personally, but I also think it may time to get rid. And if not now, definately when his contract expires.

I love vaughan.. but unfortunately he has no future here because I cant see us offering him a new contract. So IF we can move him on this summer and use the wages to sign someone else we might as well do.
its a shame because im a big fan....if you could guarantee 20+ games out of him I'd keep him without doubt...but his injuries seem to be getting worse

Stick him in goals. That's what happens when most blokes get injured where I play.
Solves the Smithies replacement problem too.

This place is turning into a Conspiracy theorists haven.
CP should have him available tomorrow and if not then Saturday at the latest.

John Haselden and Mick would have sorted Vaughan out. Magic sponge and shuttle runs up and down the terrace. He would soon play if he was only paid on appearances. Bet he was Fit enough to go on holiday..

If Vaughan would have had his injuries back in Buxton's time, he would have been forced into retirement after his first bad knee injury, which I believe was worse than the one Kindon retired with. It is only developments in medical science that furthered his career to this point.

Blackburn would only be able to sign him if we released him from his contract.
I think I'd rather have the wages available for someone else so I'd be happy with that

Blackburn trying to do a deal Shame they're not running it quite as badly as they were a couple of years ago cos we would've ended up with Rhodes back as a straight player swap. I'd let him go to free up the wages up for another striker. Whether it's his injuries or that he's mentally shot cos of the injuries or cos he's decided he doesn't want to be here we're not seeing the best of him now and it's probably best if we have a mutual parting of the ways. He may go on to be great at his next club but right now for us he's not pulling up any trees.

I think I'd rather have the wages available for someone else so I'd be happy with that I find it baffling when people say pay his contract off, but would agree with this, especially whilst we have some money to go out and get a replacement. Saying that, with the recent exponential hike in the price for a striker at our level, it's probably not gonna be easy! I certainly won't be expecting one that's as good as a fully firing Vaughan.

I dont think Vaughan's body will ever allow him to be fully firing again
