Think it was a bit of a gaff from the club to say they wouldn't be offering him a new contract instead of telling him to earn one.........but its a poor do by vaughan to put that on twitter while we still pay his (sizable) wages Imagine he will go out on loan, but if not i'd still have him in the team if fit.....best player left on our books by a distance It's probably some kind of breach of contract. If I was dean I'd sack him in the morning. Problem solved. I did wonder. Dont think it's a sackable offence though - fine at the most.

See he kick off on twitter today saying he was advised not to play for 7 weeks but was basically forced to play after aweek.. Well I could have sworn he didn't wear that facial mask that the specialist said would allow him to play for the 7 weeks, which makes me think he wasn't too concerned about it at the time? I could be wrong though. To put the record straight he was saying he was advised not play for 6 weeks but he himself chose to wear his mask and played a week later

It depends what discipline policy the players sign upto... Some companies now make specific reference to misuse of social media as gross misconduct. For a public organisation like a football club, that should really be in the policy. I imagine if Betty from the office had have made comments that bring the club into disripute, she would have been collecting her p.45 in the morning.

I think you will find that dealing with Vaughan since the start of the season left DH no option than to publicly state that he would not be renewing his contract.Yes puts himself about WHEN playing but a complete billy big bollocks the rest of the time,,a typical smart arsed scouser. I find it extremely hard to believe that DH didn't have any other option than to publicly state Vaughan's contract situation. I am as positive a poster as you will find but DH's public comments regarding past and present employees have IMO always been his achilles heel. The scouser comment is completely unnecessary and ill thought out - are you related to DH?You might have a point there as he's certainly spent time on holiday in Portugal

If I was dean I'd sack him in the morning. Problem solved. Works both ways. If what Vaughan has said is breach of contract (it isn't), you can't just sack him, you'd have to go through disciplinary procedures. Arguably what Dean has said is constructive dismissal.. If you're following the same tenuous argument. Neither would be upheld.

Fuck him if he wants to act the way he has. Doubt we'll see him in a town shirt again now

What's the big deal??? Dean spoke to Vaughan and told him he wouldn't be getting a new contract, so isn't it then in Vaughans best interests to be put in the shop window or let other teams know?

Fuck him if he wants to act the way he has. Doubt we'll see him in a town shirt again now Act like what??? What exactly has Vaughan done? Anyone got anything solid? Because from where I am sitting he has always given us 100% when fit, we knew when we signed him he had injury issues, we tied him to a contract that means the club is protected if he is injured. He's probably not been played the last few weeks to protect him from injuries for a potential transfer. I am FAR more concerned that it is the 4th player now to be forced out the door. There's something else going on and that's what JV means by the truth will out. But then it's easier to believe dean and defend our club isn't it? Funny how everyone was in uproar about smithies.

Given his record he may well be injured again but it could also be a convenient, believable excuse by the club for not playing him. From the posts made on the Patrons thread last night Powell doesn't say anything about him being injured on there and it supposedly happened yesterday in training. When Powell said that Vaughan will play if needs be, I guess he meant if the club has such an injury crisis that there's nobody else.

Looks like he's in the same boat as Gezza to me and has priced himself out of a move and burnt a few bridges in the process.
I always had Vaughan down as a model pro but we're clueless as fans and only see what's on the pitch. I'd love to know what's really gone on.
Whatever we need a quality striker asap.

Injured in training during the week ...so he was fit enough to play before being crocked ?? Seems there's definately been a fall out here.. It's a shame because Vaughan has been a hero here but this continual injury stuff is getting a bit hard to believe now..

Why on Earth would we not play a fit JV?
A fit JV is/was on a different level to anything we have.
Makes no sense to me Doc.

One can only assume if he's played 49 games for the club he will be owed appearance bonus' if he reaches 50 either that or we will have to pay Norwich some sort of fee. He may well be injured it is likely that he is, but for the club it could be an easy way around paying bonus' etc by saying he's injured therefore can't play.

He may well be injured it is likely that he is, but for the club it could be an easy way around paying bonus' etc by saying he's injured therefore can't play. I keep hearing this being banded about. So, we're happy to keep on paying his wages for another year, to have him sitting on his arse picking up a wage, rather than paying a "pure guesswork" bonus by allowing him to play? I find this hard to believe. It's fairly obvious that he feels the club are mistreating him, with tweets like "treat me well and I will give my all". Hoyle has said things publically which should have been kept quiet. He then tried to punt him off on loan, when we only have 2 first team strikers. If that's how the club is being run, we really are in a mire.
