This must be the easiest board to wind up in all the football league. Some people have far too much time on their hands.

Let's see how true it is then if he actually plays tonight, if not something is wrong.

refusing to play for as he doesn't want to pick up any injuries , wants to find a longer term contract elsewhere as he only has 12 months left at town ..... sinking ship Would anybody actually notice if he was refusing to play for us..

Either a first hand or reported wind-up. The only way that Vaughan is going to get a decent new deal, either with us or anywhere else, is to play a run of first team games this season, provide some evidence that his injuries are behind him, and demonstrate that he can still score goals.

How did he do when he came on last night?

How did he do when he came on last night? Put himself about a bit (almost scalped by a high boot at the end) but didn't really have much impact Miller was far more of a threat before he ran out of steam IMO

Miller was 'potentially' dangerous although he had a poor game last night. Last time I saw him was home to Fulham and he looked really impressive that game. When on form and fit he is a dangerous player to have in our squad but the way we used him last night was poor in the first half, Very long ball, very Sunday League. Every throw in was down the line to his head. I actually think this way of playing really doesn't help Wells at all

To be fair to him he didn't look like he didn't want to play for us for fear of getting injured. Won pretty much if not every header and put his head in where there were 6 studs coming for him.

Agree, I started cringing when he ducked his head in for low header. Would just be his luck to get "concussed" again

given the tactics of the brighton centre halves and one of the full backs in relation to our main striker..
vaughan would have fallen foul of it early doors and may have had the next couple of weeks off anyway..
he makes a useful sub or starter if required..
vaughan isnt a good enough centre forward to be as daft as he often is..we are going to have a difficult season, no need to make it even harder..

Threads like this should have been deleted as soon as they were posted.
I'm not the greatest fan of Vaughan due to his injury record, but this thread was little more than a can of petrol and a naked flame.....

The ends of threads don't often bear much relationship to the start of threads (or indeed the middle) - so I wouldn't get too concerned about it's title.

Can't remember a single decent ball into his feet. Miller also had alot of high balls belted up to him, but he also had quite a bit of good service into his feet, giving him much more chance to shine. Which he did.

why has hoyle come out and said Vaughan will never get a new deal what sort of motivation for him to give everything is that? he should have lied and said he will have to give everything stay fit score goals and then he might get a deal (and to be honest if he did those things then we should give him a new deal and sell him for £800k)

He will be gone before deadline day, think we should have kept him this year as we are already threadbare. But deano is intent on getting the bigger wages off the bill.

Think Vaughan will stick with us this season and then pack football in during next summer, he's been so unlucky with injuries has the lad!

John Haselden and Mick would have sorted Vaughan out. Magic sponge and shuttle runs up and down the terrace. He would soon play if he was only paid on appearances. Bet he was Fit enough to go on holiday..

Bit harsh that assessment - he wants the biggest earners off because one has just given us 2m to strengthen elsewhere and the other cos he's never ruddy fit! 50 games in 3+ yrs for your best striker ain't good enough and unless you have parachute money you can't justify 500k+ in wages for a sick note. This time last year we did the same thing and improved - we might not this term, but I'd back the current board given they have achieved continuous improvement for nearly a decade!

why don't we get Vaughan match fit get him scoring like at the start of the 2013 season and then flog him in January. I feel we have wrote him off in the public too soon and now why would he risk going in for his usual 30/70 challenges when he is risking injury which would jeopardise any future employees
