the wage bills were not very much in evidence today.. a few qpr players obtained by deception today.. I guess we didnt score because they piled their wallets in front of the goal and Austin didnt score because ?? forget the money, our highest paid player didnt even get on the bench..

They did score though They soaked up our pressure - Green didn't make a save - and took one of only two chances they had We blotted out a side who scored 7 in their last two league games. We played well but they just had the extra quality upfront that money buys The fact still remains that we sold one of our best players and top earners to sit on their bench

extra quality?? crap cross missed the intended target and deflected.. agreed the little fella was backing up, thats maybe more hard work and a freedom to do it rather than quality..
they got the run of the ball and some glaringly poor control in the box from our front two to thank as well..you cant 'buy' that...

Reading Powells comments about it looking like a 0-0 game, for me that speaks volumes. We were well on top for most of that game yet it seems he would have been happy with a point!! If we are dominating games and drawing never mind losing he should not be satisfied with that result!!

It was looking like a nil nil because we were all over them but didn't look like we would score. If this poll was put on tomorrow morning, rather than straight after a match we've lost and people not influenced by a few jars, the results would probably be alot different.

I know it's early in the season, but we have just played 3 of the top 4 in the league, 2 of which we looked the most likely to win, so I'm not panicking yet.

His tone suggested he would have been happy with a point. As a paying customer I would expect in a game like that we should not be happy with a point.

I'd be much more concerned if we were were we are and only played teams who were more likely to be relegated than promoted. We have to be realistic, did you really expect to beat QPR and Hull, or just hoped we would? Sent from my HTC One mini 2 using proboards

Especially when 3 were at home, 4 if you include the cup! We seriously need to stop this little old Huddersfield crap. It's tiresome and completely undermines every paying customer. We should not be looking at any club in this division as a bigger team. We have every right to consider them our equals since we earned the right to be here.

So he brings on 2 attacking minded players to try and win the game and it does not work out. I thought that is what people wanted. They came off for 2 attack minded players, whats your point ? Why Hogg and Whitehead its far too negative, get the has-been slow motion thunderbird Boro reject out and give Dempsey a chance alogside Hogg and Huws(Butts will go)

Interesting I fully look forward to crystal palace mounting a champions league campaign this season

I didn't hear the Notts County team complaining about it or set out negatively given our wage bill is multiple times theirs etc. I didn't see Brentford do that or Bournemouth (yes they spent but they sold more than they bought in) last season.

Seems a nice bloke but unfortunately it's a result based business and his haven't been very good for quite awhile now, negative tactics doesn't help him either. Part of me feels for him as he can never build a side but I just can't see it working out for him here.

Probably my favourite 2 Beatles albums. Memories of my first car - 850 Mini - and those 2 taped onto either side of a C90. Damn, you must a bit older than I thought, what's an '850' mini?lol, I hated the beatles when I were a kid growing up as a punk rock/ metalhead kid, but they're one of my all time favourite groups now, the way they evolved musically I don't think has ever been surpassed. This is geting off topic? whats an 850 mini. crikey we should start a new thread in off topic to discuss mini memories. not the BMW version i hasten to add. Ahh the joy of the the 1275 cross flow...

Powell is doing ok with what he has at his disposal. Like it or not we are playing teams who are half a league above us in resources so to go at them as equals would probably result in a kicking, much more likely to get a result keeping it tight. I thought it was a pretty good game today in any case, and with a bit of luck (and a half decent ref and liner) we could have had 3 points, just lacking that 'money can buy' edge that we possibly can't afford. Think some people's expectations are too high, but that's their prerogative I guess. Listening to radio Leeds on the way home though I wonder whether some people watched the same game (or I suspect in the case of most people texting/tweeting in, maybe if the commentary was from a different game!!)

Say what you like about Powell but look at it this way.
The players on the field have scored 3 goals between them in 5 league games, that is 1 goal every 150 minutes! That is totally uncceptable. We have won 3 points and sit 22nd without a win.

Powel's first summer window still open, after recovering our plight last season, way too early for such questions, by about a season and half in my opinion. Stability is key to long term success, whereas changes might or might not bring short term spurt in results depending on who we manage to get as manager, but it will cost too much to keep repeating ad infinitum.
