OK. Its become clear, Powell is a very poor manager but he is not helped by the pressure and remit. His goal is to survive. He has been told his pitiful task, don't get relegated, he realises his £5k a week depends on it. This default setting is self-defeating. Fans do not matter, you are an afterthought. From a defensive start you cannot succeed, ONLY survive. Crowds and interest fall, is it only business or is it entertainment? The likes of Warnock and Fry man-managed, they switched it around, team spirit, gung-ho, risk-taking. Following this "safety first" policy means we will never over-achieve (which is what we have to do). We don't pick strikers, we only stifle, we don't use clever loan players, we don't internationally scout. So narrow and negative. Those who say "unlucky"...ONE shot on target at home? PATHETIC. It should be 10 a match or your money back!!!! FEEBLE. No wins this season, surviving last year waas LUCK. Progress measured by table placing over 46 games is ridiculous, we have not had 3 good games in over 2 years. Relegated without changes. This. 3 wins in 23 > relegation form. Something has to change.

Small margins and views...unlike my supposed cretinism. The thyroid functions, the patience does not. Had enough of Powell, he is useless. Small margins when it suits your negativism then? But never in reverse. Do you ever consider that 'supporting' something (in this case a football team) is a positive action designed with a net gain in mind? Yes, i count 90 stadiums and a 1000 games as supporting. Sometimes the truth hurts. Sometimes family members are complete losers

As I said Oti, drivel. I agree Powell is having a hard time but 'useless'? You undermine your opinion with emotive weakness like this. I stand by "useless"...just do not rate him. When he talks it's sound-bites. Tactics, formations, substitutions, motivation, signings, contacts? Even in his box he looks lost.

I find it ridiculous that some people think that criticism is the best way to achieve that. Just seems thick to me... Anyway you carry on, it's pretty clear you enjoy reading your own drivel.

We have a safety first manager with a dodgey defence = recipie for disaster. He does not try and win the game enough for me his subs dont add to the goal threat they maintain the staus quo or weaken it. He is of course working with one hand tied behind his back. Listening to the comments last week he was happy to select and play vaughan , who mysteriously this week wasnt even on the bench. So we start with a weakened squad. Why didnt we get a striker on loan given the sudden turn around in attitude to vaughan?

Personally I think we are starting to gel.I don't have the Powell is useless feelings yet. I think we will be around the same place we were last season come the end. One win and we would go shooting up that league. Far too early for negative despondency.

Easy for you to bellow for change Oti, you are not in control of the finances. You just sit at your keyboard and type drivel in the vain hope that someone might pay attention to it.

I'd like to disagree but in reality this is pretty much it, the only thing I would say is that Grant Holt made a difference for the games he played last season. I would, churlishly, argue there were a handful of good games but few more.

thing is though, any aspirations we had for a good start, a lofty league position, a bit of media coverage and a bit of the feel good factor..however short..has gone already..and we're off yet again with another long battle to get away from the bottom of the league..

That's true, but this is a tough league. It's hard to survive. We have to better than three other teams to do that. For those of you that go to each home game, you see a a higher standard of play than you did when we were in the lower division, but we do not win as often. Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford are going to have a torrid season make no doubt about it. But they will have great memories along the way however scarce. Thank your lucky stars we are not in the same mould as Blackpool, sinking faster than the titanic. no amount of catawalling one here would stop a juggernaut like that if we didn't have a great team in charge of our team. Think on that.

Blind Faith Happy Clappers.
Powell is a shocking Manager. He remains in charge and get ready for League 1 football next season. I agree with the majority of Otis post , barring the fact we were lucky to stay up last season. We stayed up comfortably on merit in the end.
There are 2 places up for relegation this season as Rotherham will be last seasons Blackpool. Some of the decisons made begger belief. We sign a young raw striker with a decent pedigree and promptly loan him out for an Injured tempremental midefielder from the division below.
Town fans are so blindly loyal they are happier with a valiant defeat than an Ugly win. 1 serious threat on goal today, scandalous. Most ridiculous statement ever " the best team lost". Let me clear things up. QPR were better than us at doing what is required to win a game if football, scoring goals.
The Objective of football is to score more goals than your opposition, you do that consistently and you have success. So QPR were superior to us today when it came to doing just that. Fluff it up as much as you want, but the best team won today. Any other form of explanation is just clutching at straws.
We are an average to poor side. We will only ever attract 3 types of player 1) Aged players who's best years have been witnessed at other clubs and are just out to top up their pension 2) Lower league players that have potential, who we will keep for 2/3 years and then sell on for a profit and 3) Average players
We are not an attraction for players with ambition, unless they are ambitious players looking for a stepping stone.
This does make the job of whoever is in charge harder, but christ, our last 4 managers have had the personalities more suited to a funeral directors than that of a football manager. They couldn't inspire my kids to do their homework , let alone a team of athletes onto victory, making the job twice as hard when dealing with average players.
We are just commodities of the club now, no loyalty from player to supporter, no tears shed post game, and certainly no pride in the shirt they are playing in. A lot of supporters are just Institutionalised now , with nothing better to do when it comes to filling a void on a Saturday afternoon, if you did you certainly wouldn't spend it watching third rate football at first class prices.
And that is what intensifies the disappointment and brings on the suicidal over reactions. Just see the club for what it is, and maybe take up bar skittles or tiddlywinks as an alternative form of entertainment, where you a responsible for your own happiness. Anything where survival is deemed as a success surely can't be enjoyable.
Life is too short to spend more time than is neccessary worrying about the whys and where fores of Huddersfield Town.
It might get better, i hope i am wrong in everything i say, i remember being wrong once before.

Woefully simplistic nonsense from the guru Lets go with simplistic. No wins in 10, not more than a single goal in 7, not been the best team in a game this season, a team that play Ishmael Miller who would struggle in the Vanarama. Simplistic...but true. Town were the best team in a game yesterday.

I assume your Mother kept you at home today. The midfield put Wells and Miller is many decent positions around the box. A pair of sharp strikers in those positions would have taken defenders on and we would have created something from them. Unfortunately, as hard as they worked, Wells and Miller can't deliver the goods. Mind you the £15mm striker on their side did even less.

When we lost at home to Rotherham in March i think we were 4th bottom and deep in the do-do. One defeat in the last 10 matches saved us without us having even securing positive goal difference in that streak! Rivals also collapsed. The points buffer lied somewhat, we were lucky. I genuinely thought we were going down and we will this season without change. We need to be far more positive in the matches...fear is stifling us. Sportings 11/4 for relegation looks tasty. I think the biggest bookie in the World is nearer the mark at 5/4!!

Far too many people on here know who i am for me to be a keyboard warrior. Why is it that anytime someone speaks the truth , they are deemed to be a keyboard warrior. My analogy was simply to point out that we didnt have a sharp striker in and around the box, and i am assuming you refer to Austin in the 15m striker that did less? If so, it quite obviously means they had enough class on the field to gain the advantage required to win the game, and that my friend is the difference between great and good. As for your sarcastic remark about my mother keeping me at home yesterday. I have more pressing issues at hand than to be worrying about Huddersfield Town, on a Saturday afternoon. But it once was my life, my passion, travelling the length and breadth of the country, spending countless thousands going to places like St James Park and the Withdean on a Tuesday evening. In those days though, i actually felt like the players wanted to play for the club, had pride in the shirt and the manager was committed to trying to win everygame. Hence when they came off the field, win lose or draw, they had actually tried their best. No longer is that the case.

I dint think anyone has a problem in speaking the truth or giving a critical opinion, but when people are wildy exaggerating the negativity, its difficult for people to have a proper conversation. It would be good to balance constructive criticism with mentions of the positives, but some just want to criticise un every post.

Simplistic...but true. Town were the best team in a game yesterday. Wrong!! I will say this one last time, you may feel Town were the best team yesterday, and in specific areas they may well have been.....But in the one crucial area of the game, where it is paramount you are better than your oppositon in order to win a game we were in fact second best, hence we lost the game, so the best team won Once again, they did better than us in what was required to win the game, and that was to score goals. Boxing is a great example, 2 warriors go toe to toe, one out boxes his opponent for 11 rounds and then steps out for the 12th, lets his guard down for a spilt second and the next thing he knows he is laid ringside surrounded by pink elephants and dancing hippos. Was he the better fighter, techincally, but he wasn't when it came to what is required to win the fight, the knockout blow, the killer instinct. Hence the best man won the fight, because he did better than his opponent what was required to win, and that was knock him the fuck out.

Do you know something Colt you strike a true cord in this sentence, Maybe the club is causing it's own problems with player commitment etc, If the Club makes it well known that they buy cheap and that players are only here to better themselves and move on, Not even after a great deal of time at a club i.e Coady, and poss now Butters, Then what kind of commitment can we expect from the players & in turn prob effects the whole team ethic, Players start playing for themselves rather than as a team. I know all clubs want to buy cheap and sell high, I am unsure as to what commitment Town are expecting from players when the club or the player look to be moving on for more money before the ink on contract they have signed has even dried.

We looked better because 3 of the weakest teams ever to appear in the Championship helped to flatter us. None of those 3 teams beat us. Yes, we deserved it...a full season of dross with few highlights...thats because we are too defensive.

So Blackpool, Wigan and Millwall (to name just 3) weren't worse than us? I thought your ramblings might have just been because it was a Saturday night and you had been drinking, but its now Sunday morning and you still continue to talk rubbish. Wigan and Millwall were just like any other team that's get relegated. Their was then another 5 teams who finished below us. That's 8 teams in total. So how were we lucky to stay up?

Didn't you write us off at exactly the same stage last season? Thought you and a few more might have learned summat! This isn't writing us off, this is saying , if you want to have a more comfortable season than chewing your fingernails to the bone come April/May time, do something now, prevent before you have to cure. How much longer can we continue being the hard luck story. We are the the perennial underachievers and sooner or later you become tired of that. When are we finally as a club going to say, right, bollocks to the future consequences, we will deal with them when we have to, but for one season only we are going to throw caution to the wind and give theses long suffering supporters what they deserve. Or are we going to continually aim for anything 21st place and above as our target and class that as success.
