If you watched the warm up shooting practise, you would not have been surprised that we drew a blank. My God! The players could not hit a cows arse with a tennis racquet. They had an extended protective net behind the goal towards the FM. Players were hitting shots over, to the the left and to the right of that net. Our most talented player (guess who?) even had an air shot. The coach was getting a bit pissed off and turned and hit a volley. It hit one of the hospitality boxes just below the Upper Tier. It was like watching an outtake from Mike Bassett, England Manager.

If we play 7 defensive minded players is it any wonder that we can't score.....
1 of the 4 attacking is a rugby player, Scannell is great to watch but never any end product (slightly harsh), Wells had an off day and Butterfield will score 6-10 a season.
The team that finished the game - how many goals has the entire 11 scored, I'd guess no more than 10,12 league goals last season?

Even allowing for Dyer laying the ball off the quality, for Championship footballers, was poor.

Argh you are exaggerating a bit,
I saw Lolly bag one and Caryola bagged 2.
All the rest were pretty useless, though the big Ginner did make some good saves.
Wells didn't look like he knew how to kick a ball.

Did he or did he not, produce at least 2 fantastic balls into the box yesterday after beating his man twice, only for Wells (first half) and Miller (2nd) to pretty much make a mess of it? This isn't his fault. Perhaps he would get more credit for end product if he had better strikers and/or some midfielders to actually get in the box instead of watching from the half way line.

It's a noun, so it's practice with a C.
Pedantically yours....

Specialun never rated him... He was good last season - he was an all round better player ie he worked harder, defended better and had more of an actual threat rather than no mans land. Add onto that his pace, stretching teams etc and he was a big threat. Most improved player by a mile. His first 77 games he made 3 assists. Sorry - on any level that's diabolical for a winger. 1 goal and 1 assist in 39 games (but only 9 starts + 30 subs) in 2013/14, 3 goals and 2 assists in 38 games (25 starts) in 2012/13. He perhaps needed more starts but on any level that's poor - at best. That improved last season - 4 goals and 5 assists in 42 games. Its better, but I'd hardly be calling it great! Ducks and hides for cover, but its not is it?! There's more to his game I know than stats and he was relied on (is) far too much by Powell, and its an awful lot better than it was. Look with all his positive attributes he'd have been in the premiership if he could cross, shoot 50% better than he can... but he can't and there's a reason no mention of him in transfer talk.
