what happens if he stays fit and has a great season.. for fucks sake stop with this 'what if they get injured shit'... we replace Butterfield with 2 lesser mortals who both stay fit and are shit and we get relegated.. or both get injured as we fall apart in front of less than 10k ?? tell you what lets sell everyone just in case they get injured..your argument if total fucking rubbish.. lets SAVE MONEY and try like shit to wing it and hope..Thats the approach, we all fucking know it, just be honest and accept it.. and yet are you not presuming that any potential replacement(s) to strengthen the squad will be shit ? don't you think it fair that if you can make assumptions/speculations that another poster can do the same? and in fact you both have the potential to be correct in your assumptions goose and gander pot and kettle perhaps I am presuming that town are going to have serious problems replacing butterfield, butterfield is fit and playing well for us.. both facts.. anyone brought in now is another 'best guess' from the recruitment team..might work, might not.. we are losing a player that has been good for us again because of money, nothing else, not making the team/squad stronger , its bollox.. this might get injured shit, is exactly that.. Barcelona would never let messi play if they thought that way?

Can't wait for some of the reactions on here after Butterfield leaves and then on Tuesday evening Powell comes out with "we just failed to get one or two deals over the line but the loan window opens in a few days"

This is a load of bollocks. We turned down £3.6m before Saturdays match so why would we now accept less. Where have you got that figure from?

Find it hard to believe its £3.5m - wasn't this the figure thrown about when we refused their previous offers?
Why would we then go back and accept it? Either the previous offer was just £3.5m cash and now they're throwing in a player as well (as was mentioned before) or they've upped the offer.

Surely it is an undisclosed 3.5m! We can buy ten new Butterfield's with that & might just end up with a better team/squad by the end of play tomorrow. It does not work that way. If you want another Butters you will have to pay top dollar for them.

Heard a rumour that Jake Buxton is part of the Butterfield deal. Good business if that is the case! Oh my God. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. Probably the single biggest reason free scoring Derby missed out on the playoffs last year. Should be playing for Accrington, if at all. Buxton has just been out with back surgery. Not the most mobile. Rather have Alex Pearce

Barcelona would never let messi play if they thought that way? can follow that, particularly the problem of the timing and being able to get a 'suitable' replacement in at this stage but, buttersfield was a best guess for clayton to a degree, so while it is not to our liking by any means, suppose we may be left with a hope and a prayer that they can pull another rabbit out of the hat

It's now close to crunch time for the transfer window. The price could be the same as last week, but perhaps the terms of payment now suit Town better...who knows?

Galpharm 2400,just grow up and realise this is business ,plenty of good players out there, and in my opinion £4 million approx terrific price, can't turn it down. Also have you considered that Butterfield could say no.Players aren't bothered where they play its all about the money. You just don't see anyone else's point of view just your immature and negative shite ,page after negative page. Butterfield did not press for the move. He will say so in the next week in an interview, just like Smithies. His exact words to a friend of mine in the last couple of days were "I enjoy being here, not interested overly in moving, I wont be any better off financially for the time being, this club is on its uppers and the Chairman wants out, thats why I am being moved on"... Im negative am I??? There is no point of view, we are selling to clear debt for the club to be moved on.. Its been as obvious as your attachment to the Hoyle legacy movement. He bought it, he played at it and was found out when he met the bigger boys, thats it..

Galpharm 2400 ,that's absolute rubbish,Hoyle stated the club was not for sale,Butterfield contracted here till 2017 has every right to reject the move, entirely down to him, money always wins unless he is truly tied in someway to Town.Everyone knows that in comparison to other clubs in division we are in no way on our uppers ,no doubt another falsehood to fit in with your somewhat fictional story.

Can't be positive now, dean looking abit stupid after saying he would not be sold. And 3.5 is a joke, should have been 5 million minimum I'm sure the man man who sold a start up business for close to half a billion won't be able to sleep tonight because you think he looks a bit stupid. Well to be honest he does get a little upset over this forum, which I find pathetic!!

What happens to all the Butterfield printed shirts bought by the fans? Maybe the club should be fastening those names using velcro?

If your "mate" truly did quote Butterfield correctly, that Town was on it uppers and that DH was looking to get out of the club, I seriously don't think you could have resisted mentioning it before on here! And you're seriously expecting us to believe that Butterfield will not be financially better off from the move? Yeah right, sounds to me like made up bullcrap!

That's only one way; with a cute (financially savvy) chairman and astute talent spotting, we can get another Butterfield. I seem to recall that the sky was falling in when Clayton went too, and Rhodes, and Stewart etc etc etc. Calm down, we are in good hands and will be quite safe come the end of the season.
