We are just gonna put £6m on the centre spot and try and distract the opposition while Hogg, Whitehead and Huws play nice triangles.

If we persist in recruiting league one players we will end up in league one. I disagree - more and more players from League One are reaching the Premier League. Callum Wilson most recent example. Of course there are exceptions, but competition to sign them is fierce and we are struggling to compete.

I don't think we need a replacement for Butterfield. Anyone or a combination of Paterson, Huws or Lolley should be able to do the job. We need to start using our wingers so lets get the ball out wide and as many bodies in the box as we can to get on the end of the crosses.

I am 100% of the opinion Town's policy should generally be acquiring the best players in the divisions below that are on their way up or players being released by bloated Premier League teams, as we can't ordinary afford established players from our rivals that aren't at the back end of their careers. Please note the word 'generally'

Butterfield was realistically up there with the best players in the division, so we're going to miss him, but I'd tend to agree. I'm sure we can get some creativity from a permutation of Paterson, Huws, Lolley and even Dempsey. Whatever we do, I'd like to see one of Hogg or Whitehead replaced with either Dempsey or Huws, as none of the above can carry the creative burden on their own like Butterfield did.

This would get people talking but I'm not sure he'd turn out for what we pay.

Huws describes himself as a box to box midfielder and with one of either Hogg or Whitehead alongside him, hopefully that will allow us to play both Scannell & Carayol out wide with Paterson or Lolley then playing in the creative role just behind the main striker, which for me if fit would be Vaughan, although I've nowt against Wells playing there either.

We need someone with pace and the ability to get in the box at every opportunity if we are playing two wide men which looks as though it's likely

Callum Wilson being an exception. Lets not worry about it. Talent is talent and our scouting staff can spot them. We were well aware of Wilson just couldn't compete at the £3mm level. We put our eggs in the Wells basket.

Adam Lallana, Deli Alli, Morgan Schneiderlin, Callum Wilson, Simon Francis, Russell Martin, Jonny Howson, Troy Deeney – off the top of my head have played in L1 and reached the Prem. Point being, just because they are playing in League One doesn’t mean they’d be poor signings for Town.
