All things being equal I'd be quite happy with the players we have brought in recently, clearly all talented players who can make things happen. However, given the fact we have one of the most cautious managers in the league, I can't help but be baffled as to how these players are going to be fitted in to a team contained Hogg & Whitehead? Does this mean Powell is going to change his whole footballing philosophy (hopefully)or we are going to have 5 or 6 impact subs who come on with 5 minutes left ala Lolley.

Only way we can survive with this current squad is to gamble on another manager, sadly.

My worry also, this. Players brought in don't seem to fit the mentality Mr Powell plays.
"FOOK 'EM UP GET INTO EM" then "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK" would do for me.

For me, we're probably going down either way. Might as well put up a decent fight via a manager with guts.

Well we have a cautious manager and yet the third worse goals against record from last season. Which way would it go if we attacked more. Would it result in more goals scored or less/more conceded?

Why doesn't Hoyle sack the manager and pick the team himself, he does everything else bar make the tea

Alternatively... Hoyle said Powell genuinely does want to play attacking football, but didn't feel he had the squad for it. Perhaps the two holding midfielders in Hogg and Whitehead, and the new attacking players gives us scope to be more attacking. Scanz Patterson Carayol behind Wells or Miller (or new loan striker) with Lolley next in line for one of those spots.

I just hope that, if Powell manages to keep the team in this division, some of you will give him a little praise.
I have to admit that, with all the departures, many forced upon me, I would have "walked".

Suppose when you put it like that (& there's also Huws & Bunn to add to the mix), there are options. With the squad we now have, it's certainly time to put your theory to the test.

The club promise is year on year progress

I really feel sorry for Powell.
His appointment was seemingly (to me) held at arms length until the last summer transfer window was concluded & now this.
It feels like back him or sack him time & I suspect that we will be in the hunt for a new gaffer before too long.

Clear the decks, see if CP can work a miracle...if not it's a fairly clean canvas for a new guy to build on.

I also feel for Powell a bit and I am sure he thought all the deadwood was shifted out and he could build on the majority of the squad we finished last season with.
You have either got to trust your manager or not, And that includes transfers, In and out, Hula hoop was quite clearly not bought by Powell otherwise he would not have been loaned out after 2 weeks.
