Seems we didn't manage to get the last one gone. Gerrard, Hammill and Vaughan are all alike in that they are convinced they are the best thing since sliced bread but a mix of attitude and fitness has meant they milked big money out of the club. Not all their fault - we were daft enough to give big wages and decent terms so you can't blame them for signing.
Defence for JV to take to Twitter is DH saying his contract won't be renewed. He wouldn't take the deal for going on offer so he stays, that's to game so why go online whinging? Either take the offer or just get on with it.
As for Gerrard, what a prick. How's it worked out for him?

We don't know what happened, but let's not try to make it so we still have to pay his wages, but he can't be played for comments made on the Internet.
He could still be useful if we haven't already shit ourselves in the foot with his treatment.

If he's fit like he says Marcus why isn't he playing? Attitude? He's twice the player Miller is yet he's being kept out of the team?
Attitude looks likely by this afternoons outburst which included saying Gerrard was a model professional FFS!

I presume we'd have to pay him more money or something, it's strange he's played 49 games for the club...

Apart from Butterfield, Vaughan is hands down our best player. He's been injured a bit but if it wasn't for his goals and influence on the team over the last 2 seasons then we'd already be in League 1. It's funny how fans jump on the band wagon regarding the "scouse Mafia" and believe everything they hear. The clubs scored a massive own goal with forcing out Smithies and then blaming Butterfield for having his head turned and wanting to leave the club and then having Hoyle publicly state that Vaughan will not be getting a contract next season and is free to leave the club.
I don't blame Smithies, Butterfield or Vaughan for leaving town or wanting to leave town as the club seems to turn their backs on players who don't fit into the wage structure the club originally offered them and will say anything to turn the fans against them and make out the players are in the wrong or the team will not be able to move forward if the high earners remain on the wage bill. Add to this the unbeknown reasons why Powell won't try out any of the young lads we've brought through the academy or throw in the young players we've paid to bring in to the club really has me concerned as to where we will be come May.

Probably because we wanted to sell him so didn't want to risk him

Gerrard was just a fat lump didn't rate him at all whilst he was at Town. Never one to boo players but no love lost when he left us.. I see Oldham didn't take him perm after his loan last season

I'd argue Scannell is better than Vaughan and would have said he is our second best player before butters left. Apart from Scannell, Hogg and Wells don't think many of this lot would get into any other championship first teams...
