Bristol City signed 2 decent CBs today. Shame we didn't rival them. They have been snubbed all Summer. Tin pot club thinking they're bigger than they are.

Bakers been on loan at Millwall. Moore can't head the ball. I'm happier with Cranie than either of those to be honest.
I'd take Paterson over Stevie. May as well.

Let's say the money for Butterfield arrived around lunchtime today. Are you honestly expecting the club to charge about spunking it off in the final 6 hours? Madness. Neither can the club afford to spend 2-3 million on a replacement without knowing 100% he was off. So what are you expecting in the real world where most of us live? The blame as to why we didn't spend all the Butterfield cash today lies solely with Derby - they're the ones who left it so late. Not the club, not Dean Hoyle, not Nigel Clibbens and not Butterfield.

You are blaming Derby! now that is a funny one

That bid was more predictable than the English weather. 'Where was our plan B' should be the question? A bit foolish not to have sounded any players out in the 10 days we had since Derby's last bid.

Town have had a few weeks to come to terms with the chance Butterfield could be leaving as Hoyle stated in his examiner interview (said Butterfield's head was turned and he didn't want to play for us anymore. What worries me is that we had no player lined up to replace him once a deal was reached with Derby.

But we did sign someone. And we signed another centre midfielder last week, before Butterfield went. Is that the sort of forward planning you would like the club to show?

Magic - must be nice in your magical world full of unicorns and rainbows. You line up a replacement before you sell, not after. Note the term "line up" doesn't me sign straight away. It's marking your targets incase your player leaves. Don't be naive, we've made a faux pas not getting a proper replacement.

What worries me is that we had no player lined up to replace him once a deal was reached with Derby. We have huws, dempsey and paterson who can all play that position.... not to mention Holmes and Lolley. I don't think butterfield needed replacing. The major concern is the board haven't addressed the problems with the defense or after basically giving vaughan a shove out the door, they have failed to bring in a goalscorer.... I was disappointed we didn't bring in Doyle, thought he would be a good foil for wells. They should have been planning these transfers for months. It just smacks of poor planning and a poor understanding of the areas of weakness of the team. The majority of 11,000 fans cannot be wrong surely.
