They'll have wanted the club to be committing to contracts worth somewhere in the region between £750,000 and a Million quid. No thanks. But why can't we have that conversation on day one? It can't be a surprise surely?

The fact we are in this mess regarding our striker position says a lot about our current transfer policy. Vaughan nowhere near a first team shirt, Miller who can't score a goal for toffee, and our record signing sat on his Arse keeping the bench warm. Our priority should be to make way now for a loan striker signing at the expense of Steer to get us up to the transfer window in January and hope we can get enough points on the board before it is to late!

I trust that all those on here who hammered Ross Wilson are now enjoying their slice of humble pie!

Best/ Kelly, give me a break. Scraping the bottom of an empty barrel if this is our striker resolution. Fact of the matter is Powell is playing a lump up front who isn't good enough to do the job he's asked to do, factor in he gets no support half the time, we ain't attacking enough and the players look ball bagged after 45 mins. Nakhi needs a start, give him ball to feet and players around him and we may even get some shots off and look like scoring.....

You'd think players still without a club in OCTOBER would be desperate to be given a chance anywhere especially in a high profile league like the championship. Sounds to me like the players and especially agents need to take a serious reality check, maybe the gravy train is starting to slow. Ameobi is embarrassing himself with the number of clubs he's pitched up at when he could be leading the line for Town whilst earning a very respectable salary and possibly earning an even better deal (on merit not past glories). You'd think the penny would have dropped by now that his agent isn't doing him any favours. Probably don't need the brass as much as you think they would perhaps?? If you play a few years at championship or above then you don't really ever need to work again once you get to the end of your career. This means journey men players milk it and bang average L1/lower championship players of the ill of Antony Gerrard means they live a life of luxury upon retirement. Everything that is wrong with the game right there.
