Away from home Forest, defensively, are really well set up team. Only had 3 goals against in their last 4 away outings - so very difficult for any of Town's forwards to look world class against that set up, especially when Forest had a goal in the bag. Bolton had conceded 6 in 7 before coming to the JSS. And they scored first too. Not disagreeing with you btw, Forest did set their stall out well. Rode their luck a tad with that one that 'pinballed' around in the area.

Where were you last Tuesday reading ? Where were you Saturday ? That's my point pal Why confuse fact with bullshit I live 225 miles from Huddersfield and I bet I still do more games a season than you minimum 32 to 35 season ticket holder sponsor games been watching Town since 1962 and I can tell this won't impress you because you float your boat by posting crap. Do you ever post a well thought out comment? King of the posters Ted I would guess if you added all the sentences up in all your post they would not get into double figures. But where were you last Tuesday and Saturday? He's right. Town win and you go AWOL, Town don't win and you're on here within seconds regaling us with your 'considered' opinions.

My God miller was dogshit tonight. In what way? He held the ball up which enabled to let Harry Bunne and other town players run at the Forest defence. If you thought Milksr wasn't very good then I'm guessing that you've never played football before.

I thought he led the line quite well in what was a very light weight town team. When the ball was pumped up to him he either won the aerial challenge or put a forest player under pressure which led to a mistake. He's not going to score many goals for us but he'll take away the pressure and man marking off the attacker he's playing up front with. A fair result tonight and a decent game from Miller. Surely you're not being serious? I wasn't going to reply to anything on this thread cos I've no desire to be negative and I'm largely thrilled with the last week. And I can forgive a guy who tries but is not very good, nothing to be ashamed of there. But I can't be told that black is white. He's a trier and can be effective as a disruptive force, but the truth is he's one of three things. He's either 'ok', 'mediocre' or downright awful. Tonight he was the latter. Like I said, I don't mind players trying their best and coming up short and I wouldn't have commented, but let's be right.....

Why's he a pedant for using the English language correctly? He's not using the language correctly, he's picking someone else up for not using it incorrectly, hence my comment, I think it's apt

Miller played well against Bolton - won plenty in the air and held the ball up well - and was rightly praised.
Tonight he didn't play too well - didn't win as much in the air and his control wasn't as good. Kept turning and running down blind alleys and his end product was poor.
I can see why he plays - he offers a physical presence up front that we don't have when he doesn't play. He's obviously not the long-term answer, particularly as he offers little goal threat, but he's playing a role that we don't have anyone else to play at the moment.
I was as frustrated as anyone with him at times tonight, but what choice do we have? Without him up front we have zero presence up top and the ball will just keep coming back.

Forest looked strong defensively and their full backs played well, Scannell struggled tonight he looked a bit off the pace, I wonder if he's unwell or carrying a knock?

Think that sums up why it's so frustrating watching Town at the moment. I honestly think we've a decent side that could challenge the top half, were it not for the fact we're so weak up front. Miller is ultimately going to be judged on how many goals he scores & we all know the outcome of that. 3 goals from our strikers in 9 games say it all.

Sorry but we have lots of choices Man United under Tommy Doc did not have a big man I don't think they had a player above 5ft 6inch up front, but they kept the ball on the ground played at speed and did not just knock it long. The problem is Miller is not an Andy Booth he does not win balls in the air does not hold it up well and this results in us giving the ball away. i didn't say he doesn't try hard but he is not the answer give Lolly a go down the middle play the ball into feet at pace and try to move the defenders about to create space get your midfielders on the edge of the box and work openings.

We look a reasonable team up until the final third, and then we look ineffective and weak. I like alot of our build up play, particularly when we shift the ball quickly as we did in the second half against Bolton and until Forest scored tonight, but we rarely convince in the final third. There's no doubt we deserved a draw on the balance of play tonight, but without the deflected goal could anyone see us scoring? We desperately need reinforcements up front. No doubt.

Why didn't you start a thread about Scanz.. He was poor too tonight Was he ? I thought we played to much down the left and the passes to him where either in the air or when he had two men marking him. But at least he can control a ball and his second touch is not a sliding tackle, also I don't see him throwing himself on the floor and complaining all the time but it's obvious you watch a different game from the rest of us. I bet Jack Robinson is your all time best player? at 193.36.78.4:7001/en/webnonsubscriber/msgidlogin.do

Aint had a read of the rest of the 3 pages of Miller. But as infuriating as he is, I still have an inkling that the big soft, gymnastical drama queen, Is only a goal, and a cock hair away from regaining his confidence and turning into the player he once was
He is infuriating but there is something stillin him imo, CPs aswell I would imagine.

He's garbage and I can't believe how deluded some on here really are.
He's the very definition of his second touch being a tackle and you'd get reasonable odds on him going all season without a goal.
What he is good at, is sinking his head into his shoulders and putting his arms in the air. If football was judged on that stance alone, he'd be the new Messi.
He's in the second tier of arguably the best league in the world and to offer the ability to " hold the ball up" , just isn't enough IMO.
Another good team performance though tonight and a well deserved point.

I honestly don't think he held it up that well mate, and he's a reet lump so he should hold it up better and he's a forward! He doesn't ever look like scoring!!! He's the weak link in team,we don't need a target man we need vaughn back or someone similar.

I was talking to Scanz at Canalside about 20 minutes before Dean arrived, asked him if he was carrying a knock on Saturday because he didn't quite seem himself, he confirmed it but said he was 100% for tonights games. Have to say he's a cracking lad to talk to.

I like Miller but he didn't have a good game tonight. If anything it was as if he tried too hard and lacked a bit of composure. When he's fully fit and confident he'll be a real handful for opposition defenders.
