you have to feel a bit for him when he gets turned and finds that one of our centre backs is 5 yards deeper than anyone else.. it makes you look bad, but not to the ones actually watching the game.. miller is poor but its difficult when your nearest help is out of 'radar range'....
we dont work hard enough as a team, we dont support the ball up the pitch and we fail miserably at times to support each other defensively.. scannell might as well not start..
If we constantly tell the players to ball watch do you think it might have a counter effect? some of our players watched more of the second half than the supporters..

He was poor against Forest too. Not sure where the good going forward comments come from, he looks pretty unsure what to do everytime he has it

That was just an abysmal performance. It takes a special kind of crapness to be at fault for a goal when it comes down the other flank. I can't remember seeing a worse performance by a Town player,

Harry Bunn was just as shite - actually worse - but it just doesn't show up as much with an attacker.

He's been decent so far but today was his worst game for us. There are a few others in the squad I would drop before Davidson. Everyone is allowed one bad game. 'A few'. How many it's that? Definitely more than two defines 'a few' - most people would say that it's 3+ On that basis, name me the four (or more) players less deserving of a starting place than Davidson. Scannell, Miller, and Carayol is who I would drop before Davidson. Just our of interest, who would you replace Davidson with?

Lack of strength in depth doesn't mean a player is deserving. It just means they're there as 'best of a bad job' rather than on merit.

Defending him from the lynch mob and knee jerkers who are calling him shite. He's had a terrible game today But he aint shite.

He's been average to poor in every game I've seen, no idea why some on here seem to think he's done well. Even got mom iirc for one of the early games, I think some are blinded by the fact he gets forward now and again even though it always leads to nothing and the rest of his game is very average. Huge step down from Robinson and James unfortunately and we're much weaker down our left than last season. The new Paul Dixon I fear.

you soccer experts crack me up. when was the last time any of you saw a man in the famous blue and white that played in the world cup. Davidson looks keen and energetic, he made some runs today that crayola just didn't spot. I will admit that his final ball is just letting him down at the moment,. But he is not shite by any stretch of the imagination. i understand that some of you neanderthals need a player to string up though every single fucking time we lose though.

Totally agree that people go OTT Keith... But I'll be honest Davidsons performance yesterday was really really ropey... His positioning throughout was Sunday League... And his confidence seemed somewhat shot ( which is weird coming off the back of a 7 point haul)

How can a World Cup player look so out of his depth?

How can a World Cup player look so out of his depth? Let's not go overboard.. He had a bad game.. As for "World Cup player" .. It's Australia... Dean Heffernan played for Australia

And Georgie Best played for NI.
You've said yourself Ted, Sunday League standard yesterday.
Positioning errors like that are not something you cure overnight. Far from impressed here so far.
At least he wasn't blasting close-range sitters over the bar this time.
One to add to the list of 'footballers who are footballers because they've got a trendy haircut and can run a bit'.

"Keen and energetic", I think that's what has been fooling people into thinking he's good enough. Look beyond that and he's been poor in every match imo. Hopefully he'll improve. You don't give up on a player if he has a bad couple of games - that is unless you're a DATM poster. Obviously the trained coaching staff and manager think he will make the team better, but I think last week and the ball over his head that led to the Notts Forest goal has really played on his mind and his confidence is shot at the moment. Am I right in thinking he was totally at fault for 3 out of the last 4 goals scored against us and that should have been 4 out of 5, if Le flounderer hadn't got caught cheating. The TV shot when Davidson passed it back for Le Flounderer to run on to where he sank to his knees with his head in his hands, said it all. As I said before, it might take him a season to adjust and settle in - it does with some players.
It'll be interesting to see what he gets in the Examiner player ratings. Lets hope they are kind to him and give him a 4!

So a player who has played Premier League football for West Bromwich Albion may take a year to 'settle in' to Championship football?
Christ we have some forgiving apologists fans. We could be in L1 by then.
