He signed for wba and got bombed out straight away cos he wasn't good enough .. he's good enough for us imo but he had a bad game I thought he was bang average up to yesterday. However, yesterday's performance will rightfully raise concerns among many. I think L1 might prove to be be his real level.

Not a championship player, and he should cross the ball more

His position and line play is dreadful, He lacks the discipline of a good back 4 line , many occasions watching his defence abilities I struggle to praise, generally in this team he tries most of the time in my view and needs a bit of mentoring. The drop of the head and the failure to make any chase back for the piss poticle back pass at Wolves said it all. Still i like the link up play with Muzzy on occasions going forward but we need big striker to score more

Interesting how it's seen. Personally I've enjoyed him getting forward and joining in on attacks and in this he's seemed mobile likes a tackle and generally wants the ball. on same side as the muzzster how much support going backwards he gets I'm not sure. My lad picked him for his name on his new home shirt based on one match!

Any player is going to look exposed with Carayol on their wing

Any player is going to look exposed with Carayol on their wing any player in our back 4 is going to look exposed and a bit 'dog shit' quite regularly. Del Shannon should be our theme tune to run out to.. 'runaway'... shove up onto your wideman, ball goes over you and you find that he can have a 5 yard start because a central defender has 'runaway' early doors.. midfielder gets the ball and sees town 'melt away' in front of his very eyes.. run forward and choose wether to pass it under no pressure or have a crack under no pressure.. same as above in a wide area, town all run back whilst watching the ball as the player they are 'marking' either gets across them or just stops and accepts the cross with nobody near him.. be nice to let some good goals in for a change..

Seems many believe Davidson is only as good as his last performance . Maybe the same could be said for every town player who under performed against Wolves. Amazing how peoples assesssment of players can change overnight , and that is mainly down to the lack of consistency in the squad.

I'd forgotten how many words you write without actually saying anything we go through the pain of a defeat everytime.. quoting who is shit and who looks like a world beater, depending on the result.. we dont get beaten very often by the opposition, we beat ourselves a very good deal of the time.. its obvious what goes wrong and we continue to pay managers not to address it.. we turn in hard working performances one week and then change what we do, often mid game, for no real reason.. there is no 'quality' coming to the club, we have to work with what we have and miller could be shit again next week, davison can be left out to dry and scannell could be completly wasted again.. ward could drop deep on his own again and cause us problems that should never have been there and we can fail to support the ball and it will look like saturday all over again.. not sure how 7 lines summing it up is saying nothing? clearly one line of being a smart arse hasnt?

Anyone heard how James has been getting on at Wigan? When you consider the money we received this summer, we really should have taken a gamble on him but we all know its not the town way to spend money on defenders

If we do ever purchase a left back that we have had on loan I would prefer Robinson over James all day long,
The very same Robinson of whom I was still unsure at the beginning of October last season, And certainly thinking he wasn't worth a million.

Jon stead away at Blackburn couple of seasons ago. And any game by Chris Holland. Anthony Kaye. (Trying to play) midfield, 1st half against Yeovil (was mercifully subbed at halftime!), about 6 seasons ago.

until wolves thought he was doing ok and looked like a reasonable signing, not helped by his winger most of the time whilst craine has scanz who does a lot of defensive work (probably bit too much sometimes). those that moaned about Dixon oh dear i actually think dixon was better going forward at least got the cross in.

its all davisons fault assisted by miller.. everyone else was excellent but let down badly by these two.. if we could replace these two with 'QUALITY' then the team would be very good? its fucking drivel.. the team can play with davison and miller in it, we have seen it, we saw it for 20 odd minutes on saturday ffs.. we got caught on a couple of breaks and 'we' changed what we were doing, conceded and never raised our game again.. the manager 'bottled' it again.. we did little for 70 minutes in a football match against a decent, nothing more, wolves team and lost 3-0.. whoever this bloke is allowed to bring in wont make any difference if he continually 'plays' the opposition and plays into their hands.. mcdonald mooches through our midfield and has a free shot, he hadnt been in our half up to that point and we altered what we were doing and allowed it to happen.. when we stop beating ourselves we might do a bit better a bit more often.. or we can wait for the 'quality' to be brought in? long wait....

I remember seeing Dixon's debut at PNE then league debut at Cardiff, and thought he was awful. he took a long time to get up to the speed and power required, then I thought he did OK. he was then dropped and the rest is history. we know he wanted to go back home. I hoped that Davidson would get up to speed after the Magpies friendly, where I thought he was way off the pace, he has stayed way off the pace. he hasn't reached the all round standard of a championship left back. but now, his confidence is shot too, and he is starting to look very poor. Both positionally and defensively he is poor, he is soft too - so he doesn't even have a strong tackle in his locker to keep his winger honest - look how Jamie Ward took the piss out of him, and knocked the ball out of his hands - Pelts would have looked for the next 50:50 and taken ball and man and a booking, but Davidson hid from him. He has never shown any signs of being decent going forward - which for some, such as Jack Hunt - can be enough to hide defensive failings.
with our current squad, I would now play Lynch at lb, which is a great pity, because he is our best cb, Hudson and Ward with Crainie at rb. Stoke have played centre halves all across the back four regularly for long periods of time, and looked solid. not ideal - I'm sure we'd all love to see attacking full backs on both sides, but we aint got 'em, so we need to shuffle the pack and play the best defensive four. we would deb more solid, and lets face it - Davidson wasn't an attacking threat anyway.
I wouldn't have sold Pelts - he would have played in this back 4.

Davidson's certainly taken the heat off Bunn who had a real shocker too. I actually thought Bunn was the worse of the two.
