VERY rarely I agree with Nick. (In fact I never have) but he's right. This guy is woeful. At best league 1. At absolute best. Cheers, he's poor, looks suspect every time he's Attacked at. Out of position too. "30.50 To see Whitehead, one of the worst footballers I've ever seen."

He had a nightmare at Wolves, but that's not been the level of performance in all his games for us, nowhere near in fact, he's had some good games and has come here after basically not playing for a year.

How long would Iwan Roberts have lasted here if the internet had been invented ten years earlier?

You would think Powell would know a decent left back when he sees one! Davidson has good physical attributes. I think (hope) there will be an improvement through the season when he gets more familiar with his team mates. He looks to me at the moment when he is on the pitch that he is thinking - where the f*ck is Lynch behind me, Huws on the side of me, or Bunn/Carayol in front of me. There is a lot of uncertainty down our left flank and its not all entirely due to him! He'd probably help himself defensively if, like Cranie, he just worries about his own defensive position for a while, instead of bombing up the field at the drop of a hat. Its admirable in one way but problematic with regards to his positioning. He does go forward at every opportunity - not selectively. He often seems to get in the way when he goes forward as well. In a lot of ways it might be just best to let Carayol get on with the attacking as he can go both sides of the full back. Talking about going both ways - did anybody see Lolley's little cameo for Scunthorpe in setting up their winner last Saturday. Beat the full back on the outside and laid it back on a plate. Not quite so one dimensional then. Who says Powell saw Davidson play before he joined Town? Probably signed on the back of a show reel from iScout or whoever it was we said we'd partnered with. At the time of the transfer said Town had an eye on him for 18 months before the deal. Powell sanctions the transfers. Not difficult to watch him in the World Cup either - they did better than England I think.

You can't scout or get a good idea of a player from watching a televised match, especially in a position that Davidson plays in where he spends much of the time outside of the golden arc of TV coverage. Although, having watched a few games in UHD with their wider angles, and fiddled with the custom selectable cameras for Champions League coverage, I guess "soon" live TV might become a tool useful for managers to scout from.

Plenty seem to have made a judgement from the Wolves TV coverage. Indeed, he was pretty prominent down our tin left flank. Not difficult to judge full backs on the telly if you know what you are looking for

How long would Iwan Roberts have lasted here if the internet had been invented ten years earlier? Bang on Ted and for the money we paid at the time , it looked like a bum deal like the Wells one!

Needs to work on getting his body over the ball when shooting. Gravity's the other way round in the Southern Hemisphere. He's just a bit confused.

To be fair though, it sounds like he's improving after his debacle at Wolves, and other times I've listened on the radio ("Davidson caught out of position for that one". "Davidson loses it in a dangerous position". "Davidson played the man onside", and so on and so forth).

Absolutely awful player. This signing was typical of the Town Board - they were not prepared to shell out for James who would have increased in value and was a much better prospect. DH and his minions are beginning to remind me of the time when Shankly left, because Town weren't prepared to acquire quality.

This forum is now so full of trolls that it's almost certainly now damaging the club by keeping people away. He is not nearly as bad as you make out you have either not been to many matches in the last 20+ years if you think any of the current squad is awful.

He's not awful at all, but he had a poor game today, particularly with the ball.

Doubt he would stand out in league one, bigger problems to solve elsewhere first.

Don't think it's that they weren't prepared, it's that they weren't able. Did you not see the accounts, Dean put in TWELVE million last year. I dare say that if Butterfield and Smithies and Coady had gone last January our summer recruitment would have been completely different. Let's give them a chance and see what they do in January.

Paul Dixon? Robinson? James? Come back!! This lad is pants. Better than Dixon Absolutely not. Dixon had reasonable dribbling, heading, passing and crossing ability which immediately puts him above Davidson.

Needs to work on getting his body over the ball when shooting. That's the least of his problems IMO. His positional sense beggars belief, and he is so one footed that he is easy for teams to work on. A constant cause for concern in every match I've seen him, and opponents are getting wise to his shortcomings.

Send the pony-tailed poser down the pit on 12 hour shifts for a month or two and he'll soon realise how good he has it. He's just had a break when his kid was born. Christ.

Thats a bit harsh imo........this division is very unforgiving for international players.....particularly if you are playing every game every week because its three games in 7 days alot. I know it sounds relatively easy, but to maintain consistency cant be easy, particularly when you have hardly played at your former club for 12m.
